Car stats; speed, accel, etc

Hey guys, I was just wondering how accurate these stats/ratings such as speed, accel, handling and braking for each car really are? Especially the speed stat? For eg. I’ve seen some cars ( in A Class) with a speed rating of only 6.3 or so flying around ovals at incredibly high speeds. Are some of these stats more accurate than others? The Accel and handling stats seem more reliable to me. Any thoughts?

IMO, stats are as accurate as a $3 bill…lol… i really don’t think they are accurate at all.

I think they are approximately accurate about half the time.

I have found myself building cars after stats pretty reliably. So within one car the stats are pretty accurate, i.e. a build with better stats gives you usually better times. The only exception so far is that Rollcage may give you better handling stats but still maybe slower for some cars.

As for how accurate they are across different cars: they usually give good indication how fast a car might be, but obviously speed rating is broken for some cars.

Believe the stats reflect the build and not tune. You can tune a car to perform better than its stats suggest.

The speed rating can be deceiving due to the sport transmission. It doesn’t reflect the adjustable final drive.
