Car Price/Payout Difficulty Scaler

TLDR: A difficulty setting to make car prices &/or payouts more realistic by removing the 450 credit price cap in order to make it harder to earn special cars, for those who value a more challenging progression.

Seems like it’s now all but confirmed that car prices in Forza Motorsport are going to be cheaper than in any other Forza game in recent history. The FXX-K went from $2,700,000 in Forza Horizon 5 to $345,000. This is a whopping 82% drop in price! There are others that were dropped 99.9%!

I get it, in this modern era of gaming, people like being able to get whatever they want, whenever they want. Hence why Forza games have been increasingly easy with wheelspins & gifts giving you millions of dollars & hundreds of cars with little-to-no work. This is also why GT7 was panned for low payouts & expensive car prices.

But some of us…actually like difficult progression (ok maybe not as extreme as GT7, but I digress). So why not have a difficulty option in the settings to either increase the car prices, make the race payouts more realistic, or maybe even both!

I like having to work hard to earn special cars. I don’t feel a sense of progression when I can play a racing game for 30-60 minutes & buy a Bugatti Veyron. I liked having to race for a few days to have $20 million to buy a special auction house car in FH5. Felt like an actual accomplishment, which can’t be had when you can buy any car within an hour of gameplay.

I for one don’t feel like having to race a lot to earn rare, valuable cars is a “grind”. Racing is the entire point of the game, & I enjoy it! So why not add more difficulty options in the economy of the game for people like me? The more options the merrier after all!

Apologies for the crappy photo, but I’ve had this game for a day now, and to prove a point I already bought 5 of the most valuable car in the game.

I do not feel like I earned any of these cars.

At least your issue with the economy provides a solution. But just think about where Turn 10 is coming from. On one hand people were saying it was too difficult to earn credits in their main rival game, GT7 and people took issue with it. On the other, Turn 10 was likely put in a dilemma to make a decision to either make it harder or grindy as you said, or come up with their own system.

I’m not sure how to feel about it. I’m generally more of a gameplay first, features later racer and so far at least the gameplay hook is addicting.

Hope you do end up getting a resolution. Perhaps just don’t buy the cars? Jk jk. Happy gaming.

Yeah, I have the game as you can see from the above image, & while the racing is really fun, I’m literally just buying & selling off Jeskos left & right because the game will be super boring (to me) if I’m racked up with millions of credits & nothing to do with them. I hope they bring back gifting cars, because I’ll hand out Jeskos like candy!

Did you know that in order to make a different style car whether for drift or race, you would have to buy the same car and level that car again to 50? I saw DonJoeSong on twitter take issue with it and if it’s true, I’m not a fan of that either. Is that the kind of grind you’re looking for?

No. Grinding to earn a weight reduction, is annoying because the rewards isn’t worth the work it takes to get there. Hence why it feels like a grind.

However, just playing the game and racking up enough to buy 5 Jeskos in one day is embarrassing too. There’s no sense of progression when you can buy the most limited and special cars in the world so easily, and racing a lot to get a special reward like a rare/limited car, is WAY more rewarding of a feeling .

I just learned your car points (CP) can be refunded for each car. That means I can essentially buy a car, build it one way i.e. drift using CP points and when I want to put it back to stock or another type of build, I can get a FULL REFUND of CP. That’s actually a W in my book.
