Car Pass on sale for Gold members.

Hey guys.

My bro bought the season pass yesterday for £26.99 to get all the cars, I said I would do it today, logged on and its back to £39.99 ?

Hardly fair that, now we don’t have the same cars and I wasn’t given any notice that the price was going to go up by today or I would have made sure I ordered it late last night.

Can someone confirm if the car pass has indeed gone back up to £39.99 or is there an error somewhere ? I have bought 4 dlc packs @ £7.99 already.

Hope someone can clear this up.

Cheers in advance

Microsoft isn’t required to notify you of a sale expiration. Best bet for the future: if you see something on sale and want it, either get it that moment or expect the price to increase.

I don’t understand why you put that childish image to what is a serious question ?? hardly helpful is it ?

Does anyone have a serious response ? My home screen was playing up and I am trying to add my 12 months + 2 gold code but have to wait a few days until current gold expires before it will work so I wasn’t sure if it was just not updating correctly, one min the pass is £26.99 next day its £39.99

If it has gone up, do these car passes discount often or was that a one off ?

Bargain!!!..I brought it through the marketplace on the F5 dash, loving the Brabham.

As of now, the deal is no longer offered. Maybe I’m not taking the right path through the menus, but on microsoft’s website, they don’t have it listed for the Deals with Gold.

They never did. You had to poke around through the in-game menus as per the OP.

I found it yesterday for that price, but I didn’t have enough money in my account then. I have tried every combination to try and find that price today, but have been unsuccessful.

It may be gone then. From memory I had to cold boot my console to get the price to update though. And even then I had to go in and out of the menus more than once. When I finally saw the discount, it disappeared again when I went to the pay screen. When I exited and went all the way back in again, it stuck. Flakiest discount I have ever snagged.

Was going to buy the Car Pass today, remembering that it had been discounted…

Except that it’s now back up to normal price so I’m not buying it anymore. What a dumbass decision by T10. Do they really think people will buy it at the original price knowing that it was at a 2/3 discount a week or so ago?

What a joke.

It’s exactly what they do in the sales though isn’t it?.. after the sale, items go back up in price…don’t see a problem. if I see a game that I want in town for £20 in the sales, don’t buy it then the following week it’s gone back up to £25, whose fault is it??? …MINE, not the shops…

Why should something that has been out for nearly 8 months, be put on sale for 1 week and then put back up to its original price? Everybody who was willing to buy it at its original price will have already bought it by now. What’s the point in putting it back up?

That’s the difference between a sale and a price drop.

Phew! Thank god we have you on the forums to inform us that these two different pricing strategies are in fact different! I, and I’m sure many others learnt a lot today; it’s very easy to assume they’re both the same thing. Scrap the vote for post of the year right now. It doesn’t matter if it’s only June, this’ll win by a landslide. Bravo!

On a serious note, thanks to ID Timberwolf for a better response.

Apologies if I was off the mark dude. You appeared to be struggling to grasp a simple concept.

Would kinda defeat the point of the deal of the week which is now renamed to “Deals with gold” if items for sale didn’t return to their original price after the sale was over. These are sales from Microsoft so I doubt Turn 10 had too much say about it.

There is a difference between a sale and a pricedrop one being a bit more permanent then the other

With the Limited amount of games with DLC content for the Xbox One at the current moment I wouldn’t be too terribly surprised if we do see Forza DLC be used again for future sales. Can’t make any promises though it’s more just an observation with the state of the current gen console.

Yeah I think/hope that may be the case too. I think they’ll need to in order to make the most money. By this stage hardly anyone will want to buy it at full price, they need to drop it to get more customers. Those who don’t have it already will have probably bought a couple of packs separately also, so spending £40 on it is just terrible value for money. Hell I still thought £27 was pushing it. Issuing a big, fat “NOPE” to paying the original price 8 months into the game.

Kind of a LAME move to put this out there last week and not tell anyone. I actually played with friends over the weekend and was getting into Forza 5 again and thought I would have a look at the DLC. In fact, I contemplated the car pass in the in game store as well as the xbox store under F5 add-ons. Had they made this sale readily obvious in either of these places I would have purchased it. It would be much nicer if T10 and Microsoft treated Games for Gold as a benefit for its subscribers and not some easter egg they need to hunt down to take advantage of.
