The Car Pass was listed as “Bundle Only” during pre-order and became available for separate purchase after release for Standard and Deluxe Edition owners. The Car Pass can be purchased after included packs have been released but there is no refund for packs you purchase before purchasing the Car Pass.
The Car Pass itself does not include: Pre-Order cars, VIP cars, the All-Stars Car Pack, or other car packs non-regular monthly car packs released during or after the months covered by the Car Pass.

That’s 42 amazing new cars total, all waiting to be collected, customized, and raced, for one low price. Get the Forza Horizon 3 Car Pass now!” it’s mean i have 42 permanent car right ?
It means, each month after release , Playground release 7-car pack of new cars that aren’t in the game, if you have the car pass, you would be able to download them. If you don’t have the car pass, you have to buy the pack to be able to download them.
The car pass gives you this car packs for 6 months. (6 car pack that contains 7 cars.) Yes their permanent, but you have to wait for each month released, you don’t have them on release day.
Also the cars of the packs are free in game to be added to your garage 1 time, the 2 time you have to buy with in game credits.
I’m seriously considering purchasing the physical edition for a few reasons. There’s no chance of me being able to play FH3 on launch day unless I pick up the physical edition. I also have every special edition Forza on a shelf so I wouldn’t mind adding the FH3 steelbook to the collection. However I also want to be able to play Horizon 3 on PC and I do understand the only way to get around buying the game twice is to go digital.
My question is how does this affect the Season Pass, DLC, etc? If I buy the physical deluxe edition and purchase the base game from the Windows Store does the DLC transfer to the PC since it’s digital and will be tied to my Microsoft account?
Every year a forza game gets released I fully invested myself in pre-ordering the game as well paying for the highest available option. I’ve purchased dlcs as well the season passes everytime. Motorsport 6 season pass was a complete waist, this actually started with horizon 2. I felt completely cheated. Every monthly DLC they released during a season pass time period was completely filled with cars I did not care for and barely used. YouTube reviewers commented on the disappointment of the DLC. They didn’t included the new released cars like Cadillac ATS-V, matter fact they just included the CTS-V about a month before they released horizon 3. They even added cars in the DLC they had in the games such as Motorsport 4 & 5 and then resold it in the season pass. Are you serious, you forced me to repurchase the car I purchased in the previous DLC. Turn 10 you’ve gotten lazy especially since gran turismo hadn’t been a prominent as they use to. I really hope you guys stop this with your season passes. If I see this again you may honestly lose one of your fans since the original Xbox. Please improve to season pass. Include newly released cars like the Alfa guila or the new acura nsx, man even the jaguar xe not cars like old station wagons if you’re including older cars include cars the 1969 roadrunner or the Pontiac gto. You really have no excuse this year because you have so many amazing cars that were released last year, earlier this year and continuing on. Please return that drive you had when you were underdogs.
If you’re talking about FM6, none of the cars in the FM6 Car Pass were in previous Forza games. Neither as previous roster cars or previous DLC. All 42 cars were new to Forza.
The FM6 Car Pass additions included the Ferrari 488, Koenigsegg One:1, and Lykan Hypersport which were some of the most requested cars in the wishlist.
Everyone’s request is valid and equal, but the enormous variety of requests from users means that 9 out of 10 players are asking for something other than what you’re asking for. You can count on the car list not matching your own perfect roster, but give the developers some credit for coming up with a diverse selection of cars to choose from. The Car Pass after all is just a discount and you have the option to skip it and packs that don’t appeal to you. If the discount and Early Access of the Ultimate Edition sway you on the price, that’s your choice.
Add your preferences to the FH3 Car Wish List thread and maybe they’ll catch the attention of the developers.
I have a question that might be dumb but I have to find out. I have pre-ordered FH3 Ultimate Edition, today I went to preload the game and all I was able to preload is Forza Horizon 3, VIP, All Stars Car Pack and that’s it my Car Pass is not there I even went back to the store to make sure that Car Pass is included and it sure but I don’t have it all I can preload is 3 items I already mentioned
I have bought the ultimate edition to Forza Horizon 3 but my friend was jealous that I have it and Uninstalled it on my Xbox and now Car pass will not download in fact it’s not evening coming up on the installer menu so what do I do??
That’s a sad and stupid thing that they did. I wouldn’t class someone like that as a friend.
If you can’t fix it with a reinstall then I’d contact Xbox or MS support and see if they can sort it out for you. It seems like it should be something they could do and they’ll have proof of what you’ve bought.
The “Half the Car Pass” will cover the first 6 months of car packs, those car packs will be free to you once you’ve bought the “Half the Car Pass”.
Keep in mind that there will be packs released after those first 6 that aren’t covered by the pass.
Which is exactly why I’ve taken to calling it “Half the Car Pass”. I’d much rather have it include all the packs, and pay a one time upfront cost, rather than faffing about buying each individual pack when they come out.
Or offer 2 Car Passes, each covering the respective 6 months or so of packs. Or one that covers 6 months, and another that covers all of them. More options are never a bad thing.
That’s because the car pass doesn’t cover the new pack. It covered the first six months of car packs (October to March), everything released after that you pay for separately if you want it. It explains all this in this thread.
