I have been blocked by someone in the weekly class league or something. For two weeks or more I have only occasionally been able to get into a lobby with more than 5 racers.
I can see that there are people on my friends list that are racing but not in the lobby that I am in. How can I find out who and why I am being blocked?
This seems like a convienient way to keep people from putting up any competition.
Anyone have any suggestions?
This has happened to me and it’s s combination of the following factors
U cant join a lobby on your own it has to either be populated already or someone has to join at the same time as you to start the lobby.
Your rep or rep of those already in the lobby can stop you and anyone else joining. It only takes 1 person with “avoid me” rep to be in the lobby to stop you from joining. It essential makes that lobby only joinable by people with avoid me rep.
Yes this sounds silly but it’s how the rep system works and its fairly rubbish imo
Tyskie you sure that how the blocking and rep systems works. I have a different experience with it.
I believe Tyskie is correct. Someone with “avoid me” can join any lobby, but once they do no one else except other Avoid Me’s will be put in that lobby by matchmaking unless they leave and rejoin until there are no others left to cycle through, or they join on someone already in it.
I belive I’m correct we have used this to actually kick the avoid me player once the lobby has died to the point where u only need 5 or 6 votes to pass the kick. Then as if by magic the lobby is full again. I’m also using this information to try and educate some of the avoid me players. I got a massage from such a player asking why I left. I explained he was killing the lobby and advised him to try and avoid being reported. Although this could be used to grief people as well its just a really rubbish system that serves no purpose on forza
I will have to pay more attention.
Near the end of FM5, there basically one good lobby in C class ghost lobby. One of the groups had a problem with me and we’re able to keep me out unless I switch to a different account. One of them would always be streaming twitch chanel, and the group didn’t like to get beat, so they blocked anybody that was faster than them.
But if one person blocks someone, it really only blocks the person that blocking people, from entering the room. Some times I will blocks a random person so the game will put me in a different room. It’s aways worked for me.
Anyways the systems seems to work backwards.
Orginally I suspected it was blocks that stopped me from joining and it is possible that it could be a contributing factor. But it’s too easy to do that, there has to be more too it or people would abuse that system. Maybe it’s mutiple blocks that doit along with what I outlined above. Who knows, maybe now would be a good opportunity for the community manger to explain to us what’s going on. Or is that to much to ask?
Same happened to me, I reprimanded someone for cutting in the ghost league and he blocked me. If he is in the lobby and as you know sometimes there is just one lobby I cannot get in and I see his points moving on the leaderboard. I tried to get this resolved to no avail and luckily he gets promoted to Pinnacle sometimes while I am solidly in Elite. Letting people block from a ghost league is really unfair as you cannot hurt them and this can be used as an exploit in my opinion to keep people you do not want making points from doing so. Worst thing is he cuts every corner and gets promoted to Pinnacle for doing it. Ridiculous to promote people who win races by cutting and it needs to stop. He is being rewarded for winning races by cutting and blocking his competition. What kind of system is this??? In a fair system he would be demoted back to grassroots where he probably belongs for his behavior.
This was group of atlease 6 people that blocked me. From what I have observed, it’s takes more than one block. I have block people and this would still enter the room.
From what I have read, blocking one person, cut all commuintcation but doesn’t necessarily block someone from entering.
