Can we have an option of still using the clutch when transmission is set to manual + auto-clutch?

Right now, you can only use clutch at all only if you’re using manual w/clutch transmission option. This is only suitable for driving with wheel + pedals. With auto-clutch, clutch button doesn’t work at all.

But when drifting, even with a controller, sometimes you need to pop the clutch not just for the gear shifts, but to control the drift etc. Playing on a controller, i’m definetely not trying to use the manual clutch option but i’d like to be still able to use the clutch. It definetely wouldn’t hurt i guess?

Yes, this would be great! I sometimes miss the clutch too in certain situations. But I don’t like using manual clutch when shifting with a controller

Yeah like fully manual clutch with controller is just unnecessary pain, but clutch itself is still useful. Basically it’s implemented in every other game out there - like Assetto Corsa etc, you can still use the clutch even with auto-clutch.

i’ll just bump it
such an easy thing to fix/implement

MC is fine option. It’s still mostly automatic clutch.

I mean no, you can’t just ignore the clutch while shifting with manual clutch option

Ah, true. Just optional clutch. I use mostly MC so I care mostly about you can’t stall engine which is strange. There is a kind of stalling, I think.

I’d like to have optional clutch too.
Other racing games can do it. Why not Forza?

Just voicing my support for this idea. I’ve always wanted the option to do a manual clutch kick here and there but cannot come up with a
decent button mapping for comfortable full-time clutching.

Default mapping is the best probably.

True but still kinda pain in the neck to do a full time clutch on a controller

I wanted to chime in and take this idea one step further. If you look at other sim-cade games on the market like AMS 2 (which is more or less Sim by now) also full sim games like Assetto Corsa, they have the option for “authentic” aids. I WOULD LOVE AUTHENTIC AIDS. For example:

-It is really pointless for the Porsche Cayman to operate with a clutch, it’s a dual-clutch paddle shift system.
-The F450 dually is an automatic transmission with 10 gears. Or, you can put it into semi-auto mode. Which is just sequential.
-Any of the hyper or supercars do not have a clutch pedal, because the shift speeds needed to shift the car are too fast.

So I am in support of the “Authentic” aids option as it would make life a little easier switching between cars or having a 10-gear transmission box and having to work a clutch pedal over and over again to change gears.

To the OP’s point, some cars go even further IRL with auto blip and auto lift off but still will have a clutch pedal for race starts. So it would make sense to build a drift car (IRL) with a sequential transmission but have a clutch pedal for clutch kicking drifts.

Overall, we don’t need the clutch to “just work” what you guys are talking about is available in other games and I hope the next Motorsport offers “authentic” aids. So that we don’t constantly have to switch gearing just to drive the car like it actually is. So I am definitely in support of this idea.
