Because i only see them useful doing rivals events, in online races it is always capped at s2 998 and in seasonal championships it is the same, so i have my x class cars wasted there in the garage… i guess i should just convert them to s2 998?.
Any normal races, including many blueprints; but really, PR stunts (including Forzathon Live) is the best use for them most of the time.

I only X class cars I use for roaming about. Stuff like chasing other people on map or forzathons. Their use is to just have fun, not for racing outside of unrestricted one off races if you feel like.
Until the developers come to their senses and add class choice to multiplayer online there is very little use for X class. Other than driving around, some limited rivals events and speed, drift, danger, etc zones there’s really no use for them online. There’s no use at all other than cruising around for B C and D class cars unless there’s a championship or something similar.
Thanks guys, so they are mainly for free roam events and rivals as i said before, i already converted all of them except for the ultima to s2 998 so i can actually use them in races haha.
X Class is considered to be competition banned cars, This is because one guy may have a car that is just barely 999, where another player may have one that if it would go high enough could be 1500. In all retrospect I think when you start getting into X-Class cars become too difficult to control and many on a track are probably slower than their S2998 counterparts

Some X class cars are useful for running custom blueprint races quickly.
A car like the Maserati MC12 FE handles well, is reasonably fast and will earn you loads of perk points.

I have only one X-class car (Agera RS). I use it for stunts, speed traps/zones and sometimes FL events. RWD Agera RS is undriveable on XO controller (without TC), so upgrading to AWD was a must.
Have you tried going into the controller settings and messing with the sensitivity of the triggers? It helps make some RWD cars without TC drivable.
Can’t you save yourself 2 tunes for the car ? one at x999 and one pre upgrade … that way you can swap tunes for different purposes & the car is not wasted

The other thing X class is useful for is PvP races where people often specify a car division but no PI limit. This means if you want to be ready for such races you need to always have a car from each division tuned to the max possible performance, as you can’t apply a tune after joining the race.
The only real use of X class cars I’ve found are for completing the speed zone, speed trap and danger sign PR stunts.
They’re not great for racing since like you mentioned there’s zero online races for them, and the AI auto upgrade system tends to cheat more than usual when it comes to X class, not to mention the inherent difficulty of even keeping cars that fast on the road. Maybe if you want to set record lap/drag times for some tracks, but with the broken rivals system that’s not even really that useful. Even for cruising they’re so fast that the drive isn’t really enjoyable IMHO.
