CA tuning comp

Picked up all the cars so far.

We have:
Cosmo, S2000, MX5 and 2 Elises.

Don’t forget to get your tunes in sometime Sunday. I’ll be checking for them sometime Monday morning (10 or 11 am GMT)

Whose is the 2nd Elise Carl?

Loco put together the second Elise

OK. that explains why he didn’t post. Strong competition!

Good choice and good luck Loco :+1:

I will try to post tonight. Did not have much time do do anything and I ended up with something undrivable to put it nicely.
Will have to fix that.

Ok managed to get something to enter:
´94 Prelude (SPK Prelude Si for C class / SPK Prelude Si A for A class)
Easiest to find just by Gamertag.
I don´t have high hopes for it looking at the competition, car choice and the almost 0 time I had to get it set up properly.
Good luck guys!

I messed up, sorry! I missed the due date completely. If it’s not too late I will get something posted tonight after work. If it’s too late I fully understand. Again, sorry man.

Well, I apologize for the late withdrawal from this, it’s been busy and this had slipped between the cracks in time and I didn’t find it again until yesterday. I doubt I can put anything together that will be worth a go quick enough to get to you now. Sorry man.

I had every intention of throwing something together yesterday after work but I started Peaky Blinders the day before and continued after work yesterday. Ended up binge watching the rest of the first season and part of the second. Pretty good show!

Anyway, again, sorry for pulling out of the comp. And a sincere thank you for throwing out a comp!! I love seeing the community doing things to keep the game fun and interesting!! I’ll be watching this from the sidelines. I’ve got a couple horses I have my money on, lol.

Good luck everyone!!

Any news?

Sorry for the delay guys - something came up with work and I’ve been busy trying to find some bugs in some software so a factory can come online in China. Fun times…

C Class is complete, and I’m most of the way through A. Got 2 or 3 more cars to run so should have some results for that soon.

Anyways, are the rules I have been running cars against:

  • 20 minutes per car, per track
  • Pro ghost AI in C, PI limited to towards the top end of the class
  • Unbeatable ghost AI in A, PI limited to towards the top end of the class
  • Damage off

I added in a couple of quick challenges. I always like throwing something into the mix that people weren’t able to build for, and did it quite a lot in FM3/4 comps. They were:

  • Drivatars Beaten - How many ghost drivers were beaten
  • Hot Hatch Beaten - If car beat my Veloster N time, a car I have built up for career mode and have had a soft spot for since the Rhinocorn paint from FM4
  • Fastest 1 mile drag time (best of 3, per class)
  • Fastest Lotus
  • Fastest Honda
  • Fastest Mazda

We have the following entrants:

  • Chronic 957 - 2009 Honda S2000
  • HLR MOSS - 2005 Lotus Elise 111S
  • HLR PRKid - 1972 Mazda Cosmo 110S
  • OdinThe1337 - 1994 Honda Prelude Si
  • ECT Loco F355 - 2005 Lotus Elise 111S
  • Mr Fade - 1994 Mazda MX-5 Miata

So 2 Lotuses/Loti??, 2 Mazdas and 2 Hondas.

For Maple Valley, I set a 46.473 in the Veloster N, the results are:

So, everyone beat the Veloster, and everyone beat all the drivatars.

I hit a dirty 44.568 in Moss’ Elise, but only due to running wide over some grass on the previous lap.

Some comments on the C class cars:

S2000 - very stable, very consistent. Set most of the laptimes within 0.2s
MX5 -a little loose, but I like it. This is how I tend to set cars up anyway. It would have been a little bit quicker through the final turn had I been on a controller
Cosmo - sounded amazing. Very quick, and had very good turn in.
Prelude - not sure why this wasn’t quicker. A little understeer, but was able to work around that
Loco’s Elise - very stable, full throttle with the keyboard out of the last turn, with no feathering needed. Once up to speed, I hit the same best lap 3 times…
Moss’ Elise - not quite as stable as Loco’s, and laptimes were a little more varied, but had better turn in/was a little looser, which sometimes meant a better run through the 2nd half of the lap (the left kink and final corner)

The drag race results are:

I’ll update with prizes and A class results soon

Ah yes, work, the thing that is the cause it did not even touch my wheel for the last couple of weeks.

Nice update, cool competition!
Was working on an old Porsche speedster but that didn’t want to play nice. The prelude was a quick build but not doing bad looking at the competition.

I’m about to get a forced forza vacation because of that dreaded work thing … But thankfully I have it !

I’m surprised the Lotus got beat by Cosmo , but I suspect the Lotus will dominate in A .
I fear for my little Mazda in A it was a bit of a handful at times when I was running it for testing .
Yes agree with you that it was a bit loose , I do run on controller and try to use my throttle trigger to help get the car to rotate when I slightly release it .

Looking forward to the A results !
Thanks for running this Carlalsford , I know how much time it can take .

I was surprised too - I spend a lot of time driving Lotuses in the game, pretty surprised by the speed of the Cosmo.

The MX-5 was squirrely, but once you hit the sweet spot it is pretty handy round the corners.

… and I’m done running the cars.

A little surprised with the result - but that Cosmo is super fast. Had the power over the Lotus and was able to hold up enough in the corners to not lose too much time there, so was able to maintain the lead from C class.

Some observations of the A class cars:

Moss’ Elise - I was able to carry so much speed into the corners, I am a huge fan of this tune.
Cosmo - Quick on the straight, and able to carry a lot of speed in the corner. Don’t think I’d ever driven one of these before.
MX-5 - Very quick. Once I got ahold of the cornering, I was able to knock a good .5s off my laps.
Loco’s Elise - seemed to lack some speed on the straight. Was super quick in the corner though. Great handling. Not 100% sure, but might have been a little low, which meant I couldn’t attack the curbs like some of the other cars (Prelude being one).
Prelude - A rocket on the straight
S2000 - Great speed, but couldn’t quite carry it round the last corner

Here is the prize structure:

which translates to:

Put something up in the auction house and let me know when, and I’ll pick it up.

Thanks for all your efforts Carl. The results turned out to be very close. I wasn’t too surprised that the Cosmo won at Maple, I’m a fan of both the Lotus and Cosmo and there is little to choose between them. I definitely wasn’t surprised to finish last in the drag race LOL. My C class Lotus was a FULL handling build complete with a full cage and max rim sizes.

Thanks for putting in the time organizing the competition and running the cars.
The Prelude did surprisingly well in this field, lap deltas not far off.
The build is ok and the speed is there for sure, the tune needs some work. It can make a nice sleeper if I can get it to handle a bit more.

.
Just getting back from Holiday, so, first of all…THANKS for putting this comp together, I know these take a lot of time and energy. Great job by all the tuners involved, congrats!

Glad the Cosmo was able to stay competitive with the Elise’s which is a great car selection for both those classes.
