Buy out prices

Maybe next time they should prevent you from selling in the Auction House at all unless you’re ‘Legendary’. Not that they need to, that’s practically how the AH already operates for the rarest cars in the game.

The perk is passive and situational. It’s useless in a buyer’s market where supply is greater than demand. Where’s all the tears when the so unfair 2 million opening bids are surrounded by 20,000 opening bids? Not a big deal for you then, huh? It’s in a seller’s market, where the supply can’t meet demand, that the perk is useful and a value to the seller/creator.

Rare cars are rare for a reason, and the going rate will always reflect that, with or without silly suggested additional limitations or requirements. The market sets the price, that’s just the way it is. Not trying to sass anybody, it’s just reality, …whether we’re talking rare cars, cards, cardinals, paintings of cardinals, or cardinal :poop:.

Childish attempts to reduce my argument to ‘tears’ aside, your point is irrelevant to whether people have access to the full range of sell values, especially this late into the game’s lifecycle. Bottom line is everyone should have the ability to sell at 20k or 20m or anything in between. Whether or not it moves is their problem, not something the devs need to put limits on.

That’s not how it operates. If a car is cheap it sells fast so you don’t see it. I have sold loads of cheap Capri FE’s. They can sell in 1 second flat.

If someone is prepared to put in the work, the effort, to create tunes or designs that tens of thousands of people want to download, then hell yeah they deserve a premium!

Do you want to pay it? No? Ok, fine, don’t - you don’t have to! But there are people who have maxed their credits out, maybe they want to reward the creators by purchasing their wares for a premium - again, that is their choice.

I’m not 100% sure on this, maybe one of our Painters can advise me, but - is it possible to create a design, not share it, but sell a car with that design on? That way you get something unique, rather than turning up to a meet with a livery that half a dozen other players are rocking?

Either way, it’s a bonus scheme that hurts no-one - those that put the effort in get rewarded, and nobody is forced to buy those cars unless they want to.

Yes you can sell unique cars in the auction house. I have some just for the auction house.

But those advantages don’t transfer to the customer who buys the product. There is no value.

Prize = a thing given as a reward to the winner of a competition or in recognition of an outstanding achievement.

The benefit to PG Games is that their game gets nicer cars if you like vinyls, better tunes if you like the tunes.

For the customer? Past whatever intrinsic value gained from appreciating the specific artwork, no of course not – why would advantages/perks transfer? The auction winner didn’t DO anything, they didn’t create or enhance any part of the game; the seller/artist did. The perk is for the creator, only. Their work, their perk.

After getting “rewarded” with a passive, situational perk for putting in all the extra time, effort, and creativity into the game creating additional peripheral content for OUR benefit and vanity…to then see that same perk a creator worked so hard for to just transfer over to the winner of the auction (regardless of bid amount, large or small) would be an insult, a slap in the face to creators. Why create/share anything at all if any random player regardless of time and effort invested can enjoy the perks and benefits off your back that you actually worked for? Creatives might stop sharing altogether and all we’d be left with is a bunch of super-original gradients and obnoxious MAGA/Trump liveries.

Nailed it, I think. I have to say I completely agree with you here.

people will pay 20 million or 200k if they see a car and go “that’s it. That’s the one I want” because money is nothing in this game.

Confirmed. I sell rare cars at min buyout all the time and they vanish quick. Before I was legendary I got almost every rare/expensive car except the 812 at minimum or super low price too.

Part of why they may want to limit the maximum is to prevent players from using the auction house as a “give cash to friends” glitch?
