Why do I have this feeling that the Bugatti Chiron will be in forza Motorsport 7. Since we didn’t get it in Forza Horizon 3.
Fingers crossed.
I could take it or leave it. The Chiron does not have the same appeal to me that the Veyron did. The Veyron was like graduating from an Apollo rocket to a space shuttle. The Chiron just feels like a bedazzled Veyron SS. It’s oozing all the things that middle eastern oil princes love in their cars. Diamonds everywhere, gold in places it doesn’t belong, exorbitant price tag and limited production.
Have you seen the W Motors Lykan Hypersport? That is another car everyone wanted in Forza but in reality it’s just another jewel encrusted toy made for the movers and “sheikers” (that’s a pun for those of you keeping track) of Dubai and Abu Dabi.
The Veyron showed the world that a car could go 270mph and also get you from A to B in traffic without overheating. The Chiron doesn’t give me the same feeling. The Veyron was the first car to dethrone the Mclaren F1 in top speed. It took nearly twenty years to do it. The Chiron is fast sure but I don’t see what makes it special like I do with the Veyron.
I’m old fashioned, dangling something shiny in my face and telling me it’s good because it’s new doesn’t work for me. I have to see that effort, thought, time, sweat went into the product. That it serves a purpose and strives to move the world forward in more ways than just up the street.
Cars like the Lamborghini Miura, 64 Pontiac GTO, BMW M3 (gen 1), Alfa Romeo 33 stradale, Ferrari F40, Porsche 911 and 959, and the Veyron, were about so much more than mere transportation. They were trend setters, rule breakers, game changers. They evolved the way we see automobiles and the possibilities internal combustion can provide. Even the Tesla Model S is a good example of a car that moves the world forward. The Chiron feels like a sequel that leans heavily upon its predecessors success.
This is my opinion of course, I would rather have a historically significant slower car than a Bugatti Veyron 2.0 12 karat edition. How about a 1930s Bugatti from before the brand bankrupted and was eventually absorbed by the Audi group? Or a Dusenberg-Walker coupe? Or a 32 Ford Hi Boy.
The Veyron never struck me as being even that good, Mark. I’m still fawning over the McLaren F1, even. At least it can turn, compared to the Veyron. Veyron’s got top speed, but the Lotus-based Venom is sexier, and then there is the SSC for those who want something that looks more like an old Ferrari 512 or Lamborghini Diablo, and I think both the Venom and SSC are just as quick as the Veyron… Other entries from McLaren sound like they do the “every-day supercar” better than the Veyron, too.
That said, I do agree with you about the old Bugattis; I’m also of the opinion that more classic Bugattis would be nice, compared to whatever the supposed latest and greatest might be.
But, by all means, the Forza Motorsport franchise is or at least WAS about total car culture, so the Veyrons and Chiron should still have a place, here…perhaps alongside the 6x6 AMG G-Wagon, which we’re still missing, and which is just as crazy/cool, depending on who you ask, and is/was also a hit with the Saudis/etc. Personally, I’ll take the 6x6 over the new Bugattis, though.
I appreciate the Veyron not for what it is but for what it helped create. I can buy a Volkswagen Passat with a gearbox that was originally developed by the engineers of the Veyron, a double clutch DSG 7 speed. But I don’t have to pay 2 million dollars to get a Veyron. I can see how that car has advanced engineers and designers across the spectrum. As a race car the Bugatti Veyron is not a competitive entry but as an excersize in what’s possible it was leaps and bounds ahead of its time.
@markvii I do appreciate sharing your opinion and I do agree with you but my only reason for wanting the Chiron in the forza is cause I can’t afford one and I only get to drive all this cars in this video game makes me feel part of the automobile world. I fell inlove with the Chiron the very first day it was launched. You got to appreciate the beauty and new technology in this car. There are fast cars now beating the veyron like the koneinsegg one:one and the regera those are fast cars and has good handling than the veyron and I believe the Chiron can left the Bugattii brand again a step further. This is my opinion.
True enough, Mark, Sky.
For the sake of car culture in general, the Veyron, Chiron, EB110, and a number of other older models all ought to be considered for the game.
