Buffed 2.6L I6TT Engine Swap - 1995 Nismo GT-R LM's RB26DETT

The current 2.6L I6TT Engine Swap has its origin in the 2002 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec II, it is confirmed by both the Engine Swap and the stock R34 Engine maxing out at 798hp. According to more professional racers out there, this Engine Swap is not viable for most if not all cars, as it’s very inefficient and its Upgrades provide not sufficient power. Unsurprisingly, many players who use the R34 Skyline for Online Races swap out the RB26DETT for the 6.2L V8.Better yet, the recently added Nissan Stagea with its RB25DET maxes out at 954hp, that’s over 150hp more than a realistically more capable engine. And it doesn’t end there, there are massive power discrepancies between RB26DETTs in all Skylines in FH5 - the R33 GT-R one only tops out at 672hp, the R32 GT-R somehow makes 819hp maxed out, and the R33 LM gets very close to the Stagea at 918hp maxed out. And let’s not forget, the main rival of the RB26DETT in real life, Toyota’s 2JZ-GTE, in Horizon 5 makes a whopping 1599hp maxed out and with Single Turbo applied, that’s over double the R34’s RB26 power. Considering both engines are capable of similar power outputs in real life, something doesn’t add up here.

This is why, on top of buffing the R34’s RB26DETT for future titles, Forza needs a more powerful RB26DETT variant to rival the overused Racing 3.0L I6T Swap - a modified engine from the 1995 Nissan Nismo GT-R LM. Name it “Sport 2.6L I6TT”. It should have the stock power figures of the car it originates from, but have Upgrade power improvements higher than the Nissan Stagea, think of +30hp from a Sport Exhaust upgrade, and +50 from a Race Exhaust. It absolutely should reach upwards of 1400hp, if not more, to rival the A80 Supra’s 2JZ. It would also finally dethrone the unknown origin Racing 3.0L I6T, so that’s two birds with one stone. Its availability should be the same as with the current 2.6L I6TT, but it should also appear as an option for all RB26DETT equipped Skylines.
And don’t forget to fix the other RB26es for future Forza games.

Another case where this thread is relevant: Add upgrades to existing cars to make them more competitive

Yea I really wish they would take a look at the power outputs of so many engines, so many inconsistencies between the same engine, engines under performing, etc etc. Im pretty sure the 3.0 I6T is a 2JZ from the Gumout Stock Car, but the power figures dont match either the engine swap OR the real life cars power figures, so maybe both were made before they officially got it on the dyno IRL and they had to scramble to change the numbers later, who knows.

They really do the Skyline’s dirty.
So you’re telling me… The RB26 which is capable of 1000+ hp on pump gas… Has less than 1000 crank on Forza…

But the 2JZ is easily the most OP JDM motor in the game…
The 4 rotor can’t use a turbo… Why?
When a 3 rotor turbo can easily hit 1000+ hp

PGG has a major Toyota bias. Not sure why.

I dont even think its a “toyota bias”
the 2J has that power because in past games they had the forza edition make that power, didnt they? then in later games they just copied and pasted the stats.

if you want proof its not just toyota, look at the 3S-GTE engine from the MR2/Celica GT4. that can only make around 600hp? when once again the real ones can pust 1,000+, albeit not as common as the mitsubishi 4G 63T with those numbers. Then the 4A-GE engine is also arguably underpowered, though thats more understandable given how specialty the tuned ones of those go, etc etc. I wonder how they will treat the upcoming chaser that MAY have a 1-JZ engine.

That being said theres 0 rhyme or reason with the mods they get, as outlined in the thread I poster, the aventadors sometimes get 1000 flat, or 1500+, the valkryie engine gets turbos on the normal one but nor the AMR, same with the La Ferarri/FXX K vs the Evo, its a mess. Dont even get me started on the chevy LS engine variation…

Fun fact: In GT3 the R34s can crack 1040 when fully upgraded with the Stage 4 turbo installed, only being 8 hp off from a maxed out Supra.

I’ve done a whole thing on the RB variants and the 3.0 racing. I lean towards it being like a RB30 because the power band on the graph is so close in stature to that of the RB26. Uncanny really. I have a comparison ill try to post.
