I would love BTCC to be included in Forza as well but unfortunately that would mean Turn 10 having to pay a licence fee. The same goes for any racing series a fee has to be payed to the holder and then the costs for Turn 10 get too high. I would love Brands Hatch circuit to be included in a future Forza though and thats doable.
How do Pcars do it then? That whole game is pretty much made up of racing series’s.
In fairness to T10 including any full race series would make this a different product. I agree that it’s likely that some of the larger national and international series would attract fees but it’s still possible as they’ve done in the past to include enough cars to run a virtual series anyway. This shouldn’t cost so long as the teams are happy to have their livery featured and many of them run the same car/s anyway so there shouldn’t be too many different cars to model. Many may already be featured as stock cars. BTCC may be too local for a global game but there are plenty of international series out there. It would be good to have a little more motorsport in the game rather than it being dominated by upgraded road cars.
doesn’t simbin own the exclusive rights to that? its kind of like asking for porche and worse. simbin went bankrupt late last year, i dont know sweedish bankruptcy law but those rights may be tied up legally for a while. SimBin declares bankruptcy and reforms as Sector 3 Studios | GamesIndustry.biz but if you look at wiki it never mentions bankruptcy, it says the reason for the name change was to move to a new city. you may not know the result of who owns the rights until the courts are finished with the case. at least porche nor ea are bankrupt at the moment.

BTCC is administered by ToCA and Codemasters made some great PC games but I don’t know if they sold outside of the UK.
Undoubtedly the original TOCA games on the PS1 were some of the best racers around. The same company, Codemasters, also made Colin McRae rally. I read somewhere Alan Gow had some issue over licencing which was stopping more widespread use of the series cars.
However for 2015 onwards the entire BTCC championship has been picked up by CBS and is to be broadcast across the states on their sport channel. Even if they only allowed us the BTCC spec carshells and we had to paint them up ourselves it would be great.

Codies made some amazing cames. I’d love to see BTCC cars in Forza like they have the V8 Super Cars.

I’ve been waiting to race BTCC/WTCC cars at Prague since FM5 launched. Now it’s the time for some door-to-door, bumper-to-bumper, kerb-jumping action.

That is amazing news about BTCC cars. Dan says there will be some sort of touring car league. I cannot wait.

I have been running with an on-line league since Forza 3 at http://www.teamdmrint.webs.com/ you might be interested in looking into it. I am currently trying to push the moderator to create a BTCC, WTCC series but as Forza 6 just launched, not sure if and when it will happen. But the racing with this group has been amazing, we have done some spec series and mostly GT series races with about 30 available cars and noone can use the same car, really fun and creates alot of diversity.
