on rally / offroad races im having problems getting my car to stay stable after a big bump and sometimes even small bumps, after i land the car just does whatever it wants to and pulls hard left or right does 360s and a whole bunch of weird stuff… ive played around with bump stiffness and rebound stiffness but i could definetly use improvements, but im wondering if its the springs themselves that are causing this. ive stiffened them to the point where it doesnt do it as much but theres still the occasinal unconntrollable landing happens, but the springs are almost too stiff for my liking, its an offroad tune the springs should be on the softer side right?. ive definetly decreased it from happening as much but id just rather it not happen at all. i should note i can control it while using normal steering but normal steering just feels unresponsive for me. idk if anybody has any input on a solution itd be apprecited you can respond here or msg me on xbox. ps yes i know ground clearance is a factor aswell ive tried multiple solutions.
Ride height is the likely culprit. Try raising ride height and softening springs until you get the right balance for your driving style and the terrain.
Edit: Also, soften your ARBs a LOT. It’s more important to have the tires in contact with the ground than the vehicle be flat in offroad races.
I don’t normally tune rally spec cars but you may need to fiddle with the anti-roll bars also, try tightening the front so it can keep up with the rear wheels, or vice versa, loosen the rear.
Lower the Caster to around 2 and see how she lands.
