is it just me or did anybody else notice, that the really great BMW M235i is equipped with the wrong transmission?
The graphic model has got the gear selector from the automatic version of the car and the steering wheel has clearly got paddles behind the steering wheel.
The real car has got the brilliant 8-speed automatic from ZF. (like the one in that new Lexus RC F)
In Horizon 2 this exact car has got only six gears, which are geared far too long and dulls up the whole driving experience for me.
The 8-speed torque converter is geared much shorter and make that car a squirty hoot in the real world.
Is there any chance that this bug could be fixed by turn 10? I think that car deserves more adequacy to show the inherent talent that it really has. Is anyone with me?
(Also the sound is in my opinion a bit of, as the real car sounds much closer to an 1 Series M Coupé; in Horizon 2 the M235i sounds in my opinion more like the M4, which isn’t a bad sound per se, but not the real day anyway. But that is not the most important thing in the world.)
They probably modeled the manual transmission since that is what was given to them to track and collect data, and then the interior got modeled after the highest trim level automatic which BMW gave them for modeling purposes.
No this is not a bug or a glitch as you say, and as such it will not be fixed by Turn10.
This is nothing compared to the A45 AMG. They F’ED that car UP! The transmission and exhaust note is SO wrong that I got rid of it as soon as I bought it. Way to ruin a great car. The M235i may be flawed but at least it isn’t as much of a screw up as the A45.
Many cars arent like their counter part ^, you dont need to remove the car just cos it sounds wrong. You can upgrade it if you want a better sound, its just a game. Upgrade/tune and win races.
Unfortunately upgrading the car doesn’t make the sound “better” or change the sound at all, barring engine and aspiration conversions. It was different in other Forza titles, where an exhaust upgrade would significantly alter the sound, for example.
