Tired of losing out on great cars in the AH to obvious HACKERS like… well, you all know who they are.

Tired of auctions ending when you’re not home or not available to bid?

Tired of jerks running up a car they don’t want simply because you happened to be bidding on a second car that they did want?

Tired of being threatened on xBox Live with “bids of all 999’s” because you happen to be bidding on a car that some big baby also wants?

Tired of your bids being capped at all 999s when you think a car is worth even more than that?

Tired of pressing the A button until your fingers bleed?

Well, I think I have a (fun) solution to your problems: a BLIND AUCTION. Here’s how it works.

With Dragon Arts’ permission, I am going to auction off a few of his cars, starting with his Jessica Biel Ferrari below.

Simply send me a PM on this forum identifying the car you’re bidding on and the amount of your maximum bid on the car. Then post a message in this thread letting me know that you placed a bid. DO NOT STATE YOUR BID IN THIS THREAD. You can increase your maximum bid anytime up until the close the auction through the same blind process.

The HIGHEST blind bidder at the close of the auction wins the car for the amount bid. We’ll arrange a convenient time for you to collect the car from my AH at the bid price. (FYI: If you stiff me on a winning bid, you will be barred from bidding on future cars.)

Depending on the level of bidding, I might even award the 2nd and 3rd highest bidders the cars at the amounts of their “losing” bids. I’m still thinking of a fair way for that to work.

So, the bidding on this car is open. If this works and is fun for people, I’ve got a lot of different cars I hope to be able to offer up.

Perfect! Auctions free of hackers! I would like to try this for my auction on Friday if you don’t mind! I would bid on the Ferrari but I have a strong feeling that a couple hundred million won’t be enough for such a beautiful work of art! :slight_smile:

I think you’re probably right, but you never know how much a car will go for - that’s the beauty of this type of auction. You have to place a bid to find out! :slight_smile:

Just for the record and support for these type of Auctions. I was bidding last night on one of Dread’s Toyota’s in the AH, one I really liked - from there the reason why I stayed up till 01h30 in the morning. Towards the end one co-bidder tried to force my hand by letting me know he will only back off if I sell him a particular car of mine. I thought he’s just trying to keep me occupied away from bidding, so I replied with short messages, but not answering to his ultimatum. With about a minute left to bid and the bids running around 100 million, I suddenly could not bid anymore, though I could bid on any other cars. I was still good on credits, but cashed in to see if it helps, but to no avail. Needless to say that exact player got the car at the end for slightly more than my last bid. I know cowboys don’t cry, but I was furious at the stage, and to be honest, still is. Very, very strange ??? Luckily I got my second choice car in the end, but that’s not the point . My point is, I had a few similar experiences in the Auction House for the last few months and will take a back seat in the future, save for specific auctions, buyouts and buying here on Nacho’s auctions . Although I support cries to T10 to bring back SF’s and the Auction House in future Forza’s, I can see why they tend to ignore such cries. Perhaps I can try twist Dread’s arm to re-sell that one, or does any one know how I can bribe him.

@ Nacho, just a thought on your thinking/pondering of selling the car to the 2nd and 3rd highest bidder as well. Perhaps giving them [and only them] the option to buy the car at the same price as the winning bid. Just a thought.

Sorry mate, another thought, Will it be a logistical problem for you to auction more than one car at a time ?

Good questions FA (and Wolf, via PM). I still working through the details but I was thinking the same thing you were for the 2nd and 3rd highest bidders on non limited edition cars. I also think I could do more than one car at once but I wanted to see how the first auction worked before I expanded to multiple cars. PM me if you had something specific in mind FA.
