I am planning on slowly producing and releasing some of my paints. I am relatively new to this, but have always had a passion for artwork, specifically gothic, line drawing and fantasy artwork.
Please have a look at my work, I would appreciate any feedback!

Hey guys, any feedback is very much appreciated. I’d love to improve and get some tips and tricks. I’m very inspired by some older painters, not sure if you guys ever had any of ‘Treewick’s’ paints back in the day but with a lot of these traditional painters no longer doing it I’ve had to start to create my own!
I remember Treewick from the olden days, you could spot his designs instantly
I’m also a big fan of Anne Stokes’ art and painted a couple of designs featuring her work back in FM3/FM4 days. Props for taking the plunge and making your own designs, not sure what tips you need to be honest, looks like a solid job you’ve done there
Oh wow I really appreciate the kind words. Yes his work was awesome, back in the day where a locked design of his on the AH would be the rarest of the rare.
Sure thing, I do however not know how to post larger, as I take the screenshots from my Xbox app and add them on here. I will look into it!
Currently working on a new design, so il use that for the test.
Like already mentioned you’re already doing great when it comes to painting, so I can’t give you any advice there beyond “keep going”.
As for the other things, bigger pictures indeed could be nice. Didn’t notice details like the skull in the cross at first.
Also I probably would paint the rims.
For the presentation, tune your car before painting (saving the paint to that car). Even if it’s just lowering and bigger rims. If you do it first it should show in the thumbnail. (It won’t display it under your designs, but if you search for it you can see it).
Not an advice but something I like to do and you could play around with. You could paint the car in Chrome/ Aluminuim and use masks to give some objects a special finish (like a silver cross.) If it sticks out too much you can put a mostly transparant black layer over everything, which will impact the finish of that part but also darkens down the rest a little.
That’s some great feedback thanks a lot, il have a look into this and ensure I do it for the next design, which should hopefully be out next week depending on how much time I can put to it!
Glad you have added another paint and look forward to the next one.
If I had to make a suggestion, I always felt my subjects always looked better with a good layout and some “sponsors”.
I painted replicas before I painted fantasy so I often look at real race cars and drift cars for layout ideas. It doesn’t have to be too elaborate.
Adding in logos that fit the subject or the car for a complete look. Lots of companies make spooky figurines and gothic clothing that would fit your latest witch.
It of course adds a lot of work, but I think it made my paints much better.
Whether you choose to do this or not, you are definitely putting out high quality paints, keep up the good work!
Hey! Thankyou so much for the feedback! I have to be honest, I totally agree with you! This is something I have really struggled with. Something outside of the picture itself, like background and sponsors. Any tips or advise I would really appreciate it, as I want to better my paints. I have another picture I am working on, and defo in need of a background/filler/sponsors
I actually really like the top of the Ferrari. The red stripes that mimic the interior help contrast with the subtle colour transition.
I’ve tried subtle layouts before, thinking it would help keep the focus on the primary image, but my attempts have always ended two bland. More contrast has always worked better for me.
Even if the layout or logos are brighter than the image it seems to give more flow to the whole car. Any effect on the base paint needs to standout in my experience.
Like I said look at race cars, custom show cars and even other Forza paint for inspiration. I was a Forza paint collector before I started fantasy paints.
As far as logos, my subjects are all real people or characters so I know what they are affiliated with. For a fantasy character maybe you should think of what kind of product would they use or endorse.
And car logos work too, what brand is it, what tuner parts are associated with the brand or the region.
Hope this helps and looking forward to seeing your current project come to fruition
This looks amazing mate, I agree with koiftt’s advice, and you’ve done a great job, the extra decals fill the space nicely, the font you’ve used for the numbers on the number board work perfectly with your main design etc. Great stuff
