Beta was smooth, Release stutters

Hi,

Anyone else having this?

The Apex Beta was almost perfectly smooth for me, all settings maxed (980Ti)

I didnt play it much recently so its hard to tell when it started, but now when I tried the Release version the whole thing stutters really bad and framerate isn`t steady at all.

For testing purposes I tried unlocked framerate, which mostly hovers in the 150-200 range, and sometimes briefly drops to about 70.
Locked to 60 it mostly shows 60 but often drops to about 57.
Set to 60+Vsync its more or less locked to 57. And it stutters a lot no matter what. Changing from Ultra settings to high didnt make any difference either.

The only real change to my system (aside from the usual nvidia driver updates) is that I had to update to Windows Anniversary in order to see the Forza Update (which I btw didn`t actually notice happening, but my wheel was supported so it must have happened…)

Well, reinstalling the whole thing now, but not too optimistic that will help much.

I’m not the only one. My brother has twin 980 ti, of course no sli support, but either way, he can’t seem to hold more than 55 to 57. I have twin 970s and with the one card firing I get the same results 55 to 57 with blips to 60. It looks absolutely horrible and stuttery.

I watched my gpu utilization, and it never went above 50%. I tried locking at 30 fps, and it seemed to work but that rear view mirror was like a slide show.

Hopefully there is a fix, or work around. I was excited for this to work beautifully so I would transition $100 for Horizon 3, but if this can’t get fixed, I might as well save it for something else.

Tbh. that`s my main concern too.
The outsight of seeing the Forza franchise on PC, especially Horizion since it has more to gain in terms of framerate, is what kept my interest in the series.
And the Apex Beta was actually a promising start for me, but if Horizon is like this stuttery Apex Release version I am lost.

In terms of problem solving, I think it`s interesting you also hover around 57 fps.
And I get 57 fps with Vsync on, despite unlocking the framerate shows it could easily run much higher.
Vsync locking a game to 57 instead of 60 … something is going wrong for sure

Have to update … to my own surprise reinstalling the whole game fixed the stuttering for me.
