Barn Finds are cars hidden around the map that are not available to buy from the Autoshow. Regular gameplay progress will trigger a barn find rumor, and a purple circle will be placed on the map. You must then search the area with your car or drone to find the barn’s exact location.
Barn Finds in Horizon Mexico are brick structures with a certain style of door. You can see an example image of the structure in this developer Tweet. Approaching the door will trigger a cinematic scene revealing the car. From there it’ll head to your garage for restoration while you can continue playing.
In your garage there is a separate menu tile for Barn Finds. During the restoration process you’ll see its progress status, such as “Prepping metal for paint.” You have the option to speed up the process by paying credits, or let it continue and eventually you’ll have access to use the car. These cars can be painted, upgraded, and driven like any other in your garage, but cannot be removed from your garage or selected to sell on the Auction House.
There are 14 Barn Finds to collect at launch. The first will be activated by the Vocho Story, and another barn find rumor is available from purchasing the La Cabana player house.

Super 7 - Series 1- A Barn Find car (Jaguar Sport XJR-15) is being given as a completion award for finishing the Super 7. This car cannot be removed from the player garage due to being a Barn Find car.
I’m past level 70 and have so much unlocked in the game and yet I haven’t gotten a single barn find except that one in the beginning with the volkswagen. Am I missing something? I also have the treasure map that’s supposed to be showing all the Barn find locations but they’re not showing up even though the XP and fast travel boards are. I’m guessing I’m missing some unlock. I don’t know why they have so much content hidden behind unknown campaign modes, it’s definitely frustrating.
They started popping up with other Horizon Festival unlocks for me (both unlocking the first event in an area and completing it to unlock the Festival site). I’ve got about five being restored now, I think. And sadly, none of them are a VW beetle. But I think that’s the Vocho event, which I didn’t unlock yet because I’m focused on unlocking every site and its clearly associated events first.
When the game first started there was an early barn find of a Volkswagen and I never got notification it was ready and when I checked the barn find tab at the auto show it does not show up as one of my possible vehicles, it’s also not in my garage. is there a step I’m missing to get it?
Can confirm that after I did one of the festival unlocks I got my first Barn find. After that the rest of them have now populated on the map since I have the treasure map and it appears I can just travel to them and grab them as I go now.
There are 3 of the 14 that are directly tied to missions, including the vocho. I have the treasure map and they show so just driving to each when I’m in the area. Have 9 of the 14 done.
Same here. I bought the Treasure Map and it only shows 13 of the 14 Barn car locations. The 14th must be really special or something since they are even hiding it from the Treasure Map owners.
Sorry my bad, its not from the story mission. You have to be on Hall Of Fame, then after a while you get message that you received a gift which is a barn find. After opening there will be a box instead of a wrecked car.
I have looked everywhere on the map for the 14th Barn find but I can not find it anywhere I have purchased the treasure map along with the premium edition but it is no where to be seen has anyone completed the 14th barn find ??
Yeah, but for me it’s predictably broken. I found it easy enough, but it never triggered. A few of the stories are buggered, the Vocho jump section does not even show the distance meter at the bottom of the screen. Papa Fernando would be mucho disappointed at the broken state of the game.
Not true. I’m missing the Porsche and already have the XJR 15. Also had two of the Ferrari 250 GTO’s, but one then magically turned into a Dodge Dart. Fun stuff.
