Balancing Overpowered Cars in Open Class Races

Hi everyone!

I was wondering if there’s already any discussion around balancing certain cars in Open Class races. Some cars, like the Shelby Monaco, seem to perform way above average compared to most others in the same class.

Maybe it would help to limit their grip or speed, adjust their PI to the edge of the class, or even restrict some upgrade options.

There are so many great cars in the game, but when we go online, we usually see the same few cars dominating — like the F1 GT, Shelby Monaco, McLaren, and Chaparral 2E.

Just wanted to bring this up as a suggestion to make races a bit more diverse and competitive. What do you all think?

The fundamentals of how PI are calculated are broken. Sure you can nerf specific cars but a new optimal tactic will always exist and be complained about.

Solving this would require Turn 10 to overhaul how they calculate PI, and align it more with how players drive and build.

I agree that many cars of the same score level are incredibly fast, seriously affecting the fairness of the game.

Unfortunately nothing will change when it comes to dominant cars in this franchise. Youve got things like playerbase favorites, turn 10 favorites, and youve also got endorsements. How much car manufacturers pay turn 10 to advertise their brand. Thats why in pretty much all forza motorsports installments youve got the same cars all the time being dominant. Im right there with ya though on wanting change. Id say put all top leaderboard cars in their own hopper lobbies. It gets old trying to race with different cars and everytime going into and exiting corners you have the leaderboard users running into your backend and wrecking you. They hit you in ways that they wont get penalties yet since you got shoved offtrack or into another player, you get the penalty. I wish turn 10 would change where you can use the overpowered cars and match the handicap rammers and wreckers with each other in their own lobbies. But unfortunately it wont happen cause as always, money is king in this world and nothing else matters.
