Remove car leveling. You’re welcome.
1)Remove car leveling
2)balance the cars. If one car is dominating the leaderboards for a particular class NERF IT. Make the base PI higher or something.
You can’t remove a car from the top the leaderboards. With 500 cars and counting, there will always be another car to take its place.
The simple solution is you don’t look at the leaderboards. Statiscally, you’re not good enough to show at the top anyways so why care?
Nice topic. Not one time discussed to this day. Thank you for your input. But tbh, you told us, you cant play the game, because of technical issues, your term wont help that much.
Im not asking them to remove any cars, but for example this week was B class racing. I have tuned up a 13 brz and an integra. As well as 5 or 6 other cars. But the brz and the integra are in a class of their own and lap a few seconds quicker than the other cars (thats a big difference) I never want to use these cars because they feel too good. But when you jump into every lobby 4 out the top 5 qualifying times are always this car, so in order to compete with them you have to also drive one of them, and this sucks i wish it wasnt like that
At the start, it was the MX-5 on most leaderboards, now I’m seeing the Cosmo more often, the nature of the level up system has made it hard for tuners and rivals runners to really find what other cars are as quick. Eventually, I think more cars will reveal themselves to be competitive.
I hope so, i just dont want their to be 500 cars with each class only having 1 or 2 that dominate. I think all cars tuned up to the same PI should be roughly equal (right now, they aren’t).
Think of it like this in a first person shooter if one gun is overpowered the devs nerf the gun be either lowering its damage or lowering its firing rate etc etc. Im just saying for example lets pretend a base brz has a PI of B325 and lets say its domintating multiplayer races. An easy way to nerf the car would be making its base PI B340 (so then you cant apply as many upgrades before levelling it to the top of B class)
The way I see it, there are two options:
- You want to be first, so you follow the meta
- You stop caring, and you drive the car you want to drive
But I don’t think there will never not be a meta car. No matter how many cars you nerf, another will take its place. Meanwhile you run the risk of making cars unpleasant to drive or uniform, which to me is way worse.
Agreed, cars have personality, and this game should reflect each and every one of them. If the Dodge Demon is a nightmare to drive, then so be it. The only thing I despise is when the meta is reached by breaking the physics of the game. Wild setups that would not work IRL annoy me.
I get what your saying and i agree youll never find the perfect balance. Some will always be better than others. But the way it is now, some cars are too good, i mean like not even close to the rest. And trust me i hate driving the meta cars but it sucks when i come in 4th with a unique car and the top 3 are all using the same car. Ive started to just mentally exclude people using certain cars lol. So if i come 4th and the top 3 are using meta cars in my mind i won the race
Part of it is certainly on the upgrade system, which actively discourage variety and experimentation, because of how insanely time-intensive it is to race-prepare a car. They really forzed things up with that.
That’s the spirit!
In response to the op cars, you nerf one the next one will just show itself, get nerfed, and on , and on…
For the open lobbies I really don’t see a solution to that as some cars (like irl) are just going to perform better. I race 125cc Karts IRL and while there are several engine manufacturers you could run, there is one that dominates, if you aren’t running that engine… don’t expect to place anywhere near podium. Same deal really… and it’s pretty realistic. Like the Miatas - hate em lol but it’s just a dang near perfect road racing platform.
But we do have several spec classes where it’s a drivers race! Double the amount of spec races actually.
Of course there will always be meta cars, there’s no way around that. The problem is that there is currently a huge difference in pace between a handful meta cars and everything else. I shouldn’t be able to jump in a brz or miata that’s the same PI as my BMW M3 and immediately cut my lap time by 3 seconds.
Tbf a lot of that is a combination of the meta car and people that are just really fast in the game. I’ve beat meta cars with some random builds and I’ve also built myself a meta and still got smoked by the same car but a faster driver.
I get it though…
Spec races are where it’s at for a level playing field.
This is exactly what I’m saying
