Baked polarBear competitive FM6 drag tunes shared

Hello everyone,
I have noticed the amount of drag tune sharing on the forums here has been minimal. Since the beginning of FM6, the majority of my time playing the game has gone into competitively tuning and racing drag cars as that is where I found the most enjoyment in the previous Forza releases (now if only we could get T10 to give us some drag rivals events or at least some sort of drag-related leaderboard). I have never been active on these forums before, but this is something that I feel the public deserves to have access to.

That said, I am going to start a list of tunes that I have shared and believe are fairly competitive. Feel free to follow me, as I have tuned or will be tuning the majority of the cars that I deem competitive in comparison to others in their PI range as well as some of the popular, but not as fast cars (particularly all Dodges SUCK for drag in this installment of Forza for some reason). I will be updating this list over time as I complete more cars or improve the ones I have already posted. I generally list the times that I have achieved in the description upon sharing them. Some are capable of faster times (I.e. I just ran an 8.078 with my '40 coupe this morning that was previously listed as 8.109 capable), and some I have driven into the ground trying to get a few more thousandths of a second out of. The majority of these cars are all RWD and S or R-class vehicles. They are all tuned specifically for 1/4mi test but are generally competitive in the other locations and lengths. Some fair better than others, but that has not been my focus. Some work better with a drop-catch launch just below redline and some are full throttle tunes (test track only obviously). All of this will be outlined in the tune descriptions and potentially here in the future.

I will not claim that all of these are the fastest possible tunes out there, but all of them are very good for those who don’t have the ability to or don’t want to tune cars faster than simple benchmark tunes.

My only request in return for these is that you go back and like them IF they perform for you as I have described. More credits for me:) I will also try to take the time to see what I can do with car requests if it doesn’t get too out of hand. Just remember that some cars, naturally, just don’t fair as well in drag as others, but I will do my best to get you the fastest times out of the cars of your choice.

Cars that I have currently shared tunes for:

'40 Ford De Luxe Coupe (tune claims 8.1s, but I have been doing consistent 8.0s with it)

'49 Merc Coupe

'56 Ford F-100

'63 VW Beetle (Beware left pull. Spent a lot of time trying to get it to go straight easier without hurting times, but this was close to the best balance I could get of the two options.)

'69 Dodge Charger Daytona

'69 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am

'66 Chevrolet Nova

'69 Chevrolet Nova

'79 Chevrolet Camaro

'02 Chevrolet Camaro

'70 Buick GSX

'87 Buick Regal GNX

'77 Holden Torana

'68 Alfa 33 Stradale (updated as of 11/7/15. Much more stable tune capable of full throttle launches, but no new personal best yet with drop catch.)

'73 BMW 2002 Turbo

'75 Fiat X1/9

'15 Ford Mustang GT

'93 Ford SVT Cobra R

'95 Ford SVT Cobra R

'99 Lotus Elise

Ultima GTR

FF Supra (both awd and rwd)

'89 Toyota MR2

'91 E30 BMW M3

'92 Honda Nsx-R

Gmc Syclone (this is an old awd tune I did shortly after release. Working on rwd still as there are a lot of equally competitive tunes for this one out there)

'15 Dodge Challenger Hellcat

Reserved

Also, if anyone has any issues with any of these tunes past the quarter mile point in the longer runs, please let me know and I will make any necessary adjustments. Like I have said, I focus mainly on 1/4mi times, so some of them may have some screwy gear ratios beyond that point if I never got around to using them in the 1/2 or mile.

Good stuff. I’ll pick up a few and like for support

. It’s a shame we can’t even get a drag subforum around here, it’s shameful this thread will get buried under all the other “general” tuning or racers lounge posts.

Thanks, I appreciate the support and any feedback anyone may have to offer. I agree with you entirely. That’s why I am trying to push responses and requests by other players within this thread haha. Unfortunately, those specifically interested in drag racing seem to get very little attention from Turn10 in general. I have been praying for that aspect of the game to be developed more since I first started playing the franchise. It has made some progress, but it’s clear that it is by far the least of T10’s concerns. All I want is some rivals drag challenges and leaderboards lol. Is that too much to ask?

If you have the dlc, the new Holden will be a good one to add. It’s pretty quick.

Just bought it and whipped something up for it real quick. I didn’t spend a huge amount of time on it, but got 8.3s out of it pretty easily. I may go back and play with it some more later if I see many people going faster with it. Also added a few more others.

Couple more recommendations…

Fiat X1/9
BMW 2002

Very quick lobby cars.

Those are actually two that I haven’t tried or seen much of in the lobbies. I’ll have to check them out tomorrow and see what they can do. Maybe take some people by surprise lol. Thanks for the suggestions!

From what I remember the BMW does better without intercoolers and oil coolers in the quarter. I believe I add em in for the half and mile.

Just getting around to doing some more cars now. Been busy the past week plus Fallout 4 has proven to be quite distracting lol.

Seems as though the same holds true for the fiat. I threw the sport level oil cooler in because it didn’t affect benchmark stats and I feel it’s safe to assume it may help in the big end. For some reason the intercooler for the fiat is nearly 80lbs lol. Even the 24x11x4" core with all 2.5 and 3" piping didn’t come close to that on my actual car that would realistically fit a way bigger intercooler than the little Fiat haha. Can’t win em all though.

Edit: I like this fiat a lot. Haven’t played with suspension much because I was afraid it was gonna be one of the more wheelie happy cars. First pass straight as a bullet 8.375. Gonna see if I can get it to hook a little better without pulling the front up, and I will post it soon.

Posted a couple more cars and updated some little things. I’ll be spending some time in the lobbies tonight if anyone sees this and wants to run.

Sorry this post hasn’t been updated in a while. I have been super busy, but trying to get back into the game a bit now that I’ve got some time off. I’m not sure if the following is even there or if it’s worth my time, but I will still continue to throw more tunes up as I get the time and maybe reorganize the mess of the original post. I’d appreciate some input as I feel bad posting repeatedly and bumping it to the top if not enough people are interested. I just hate to see those who ARE interested in this lose out because we don’t have a sub-forum and it just keeps getting buried by other non-drag racing related tuning posts.

I tried dem and I liked dem

I know, and you are also the only person to have posted in this previously lol.

I understand not everyone enjoys drag, but that’s exactly why we don’t have a sub-forum… Wait, but you say that doesn’t make sense? Yup. You’re right.

Sorry , DRAG race is not my kind racing !!!
