I tried the Talbot Sunbeam as AWD with the stock tyres, and it was very quick for Derwent Reservoir Trail, I went something like 4 seconds quicker than the previous fastest time with that car, for 3rd place on the leaderboard. I tried it for Tarn Hows Scramble as well, but it’s not as good for that track, and I only got 73rd. I could maybe improve that, as I did it before knowing how good it was for Derwent Reservoir, so I wasn’t sure if the build was good or not at that stage, and didn’t try for all that long. My Talbot Sunbeam tune is shared.
See if it helps you do the challenges
D) The Trial Co-Op Championship: Forza in the Forest
Reward: Toyota Celica GT-Four RC ST185 1992
Code Tune TALBOT SUNBEAM LOTUS 1979:… 183 416 442
Who would have known that Lexus makes better Cadillacs than Cadillac themselves? The RC-F feels so soft!
(it also sounds like an F-Type for some reason)
Props for the LF-A swap, at least.
Suprised no one has mentioned the 77’ Ford Escort RS1800.
I have been having an absolute blast with that car on the Trial.
The fact that you get that wheel spin but also quick acceleration and awesome slides just makes it so much fun to race.
Getting a 98% win rate is nice as well but there are others who can drive cars like the A110 and just pip me on the post.
Manual racing is a must but i must say i did it in auto and had just as much fun drifting the corners and still winning by a fair distance ![]()

Whatever you do, just let it take you there and watch the fun that your having, really start to begin.
Curious, why so much focus on more or less one road race, where other two need a car with offroad grip?
I knew my choice might struggle on that road race, but left everything in dust on circuits.

It’s just an arbitrary choice of event to serve as a focus for trying out new cars to build/tune. The Alpine I tuned first is very grippy, but I still won the mainly road race by a mile. The Talbot Sunbeam came to my attention due to being high up on the leaderboard for that race, so it made sense to try to beat the fastest rivals time for that race with it. I’ll give it a try for the first race rivals some time, I wouldn’t expect it to be terrible for it, it’s fine for grip on the final dirt section of race 2.
For most Trials, most people don’t need an OP car, as it’s so easy to beat all the AI, so it’s more about having fun and trying new cars. I’ve only done this week’s Trial once, and we absolutely slaughtered the AI in all 3 races. So I’m mainly interested in seeing what I can do with eligible cars for each of the 3 rivals events.
Okay just tried the Talbot Sunbeam for Lakehurst Woodland Scramble, and after 5 laps I’d done 1:21.888. I’m 2nd on the leaderboard with the Peel from a long time ago, but my Talbot time would be 8th, with only 6 x Peel and 1 x Meyers Manx ahead of me.
Tried the Talbot for the Trial. It’s kind of broken, frankly, it’s so quick.
Race 1, won, no AI or human finished before the timeout.
Race 2, won, next finisher was a human in the Alpine about 15 secs behind me.
Race 3, won, next finisher was an AI 15 secs behind me, next human was 20 secs behind me.
I only managed 1.24.147 with my Mini on Lakehurst Woodland Scramble.
So fair enough, I’ll just keep my mouth shut from now on.

Mini is capable to do under 1:22 - wide body, vintage tires, racing weight reduction. I think you can shave some time even with automatic ![]()
Will try Talbot tomorrow, but yeah it felt fast in Trial.
Fulvia on stock tires was suprisngly gripy compared to Escort on standard tires.
I appreciate all of the work a few of you do tuning cars. They’re always very competitive and fun to drive.
El Barto, Breeminator, Betinhogvz, WangKeRui, and Tato. (I’m sure there are a few others tunes I’ve tried out, so I apologize for leaving you out.)
I typically open up my garage and say to myself, “Okay, this car had been Barto’ed” or “Tato’ed up.” or “Breem’ed” or “Wang’ed” or “this car is a safe Bet’in”
You all do such a great job. Thank you. No way I can put in the time to figure out how to tune, I just want to drive. I appreciate the time tuning and testing you do. Well done.
Nice seasonal events, I used a Mustang S5 for the PR stunts, 271mph rally tune 333 464 317.
If anyone needs a cheaper classic racer car and tune for Ambleside I used a Ford Cortina from the auction house, 446 479 805, 79,950cr. It is successful at the other races as well.
The Lexus RC F is an fun drifter, s1 832- 763 846 131. I’m sure the paint makes a difference, 119 649 215. I used an untuned 13 Audi RS7 for the championship.
Good stuff.
Hmm, well I tried to do the trial in the Talbot with Bree’s tune but the game decided not to let me - although it was showing as a C600, it has apparently done that odd bug where the game thought it was actually a B601. Sadly, that meant that the only car I had was a stock RWD C512 Volvo (which was also the only rental car). The team won fairly easily though and I managed a creditable 2nd on Tarn Hows, so could have been worse (the AI really is awful at dirt trials). Will have to try again with a proper car tomorrow.

When that happens, if you reapply the same tune it will show as the correct C600. (Or maybe you know that but decided to just do it in the other car rather than wait for another match.)
Yeah, I just did it as I was already in the lobby and I figured I’d probably do ok as long as the Volvo was vaguely driveable.
I see Rayne has now moved ahead of me with the Talbot on Derwent Reservoir Trail. I’ve tried it for quite a few events now, there have been several where only Peels were ahead of me, but for Holyrood Park Trail I managed to edge ahead of a Peel to set a world record. It’s pretty similar to the '74 Civic, but I think the '74 Civic might be a little better, as I failed to beat Korrrupt in the '74 Civic on both Highland Farm Scramble and Broadway Village Scramble. He might just be driving better than me, though, as I haven’t tried beating him using the '74 Civic myself.
Edit: tried the '74 Civic for a couple of rivals I’d done with the Talbot, and improved my times within a few attempts, so while the Talbot is extremely good for this Trial, the '74 Civic seems to be a bit better when you can use any car.

Your Talbot is without the bodykit, isn’t it?
With it I could combine AWD, V-TEC + centrifugal and race weight reduction. Helped me through the sweeping turns at Reservoir. Threw away ~0.5 seconds at the dirt transition though. That Civic on #1 won’t be possible with the Talbot but I’m surprised how good it is. AWD provides a lot of grip for it. My RWD build is miles ahead statswise (conversion to AWD would result in PI 648) but has major grip problems at lower speeds.
Also very slightly (0.05 seconds) beat ziperr in his AWD Vintage tires Mini with my FWD Offroad one at Lakehurst but he should definitely be able to improve there.
On Tarn Hows the Mini was the best so far with low 59s.
Why is one of the championships named “Sinatra Style”? I didn’t pick the tracks, I had to do it THEIR way. ![]()
“I didn’t pick the tracks, I had to do it THEIR way.”
I… I see what you did there!
And i LIKE IT.
Hello all,
Cars/tunes/suggestions for this weeks seasonal for those that find such useful. All tunes are my own, unless otherwise noted, all shared by myself (or others). ~ tune name / share code. If you use anything offered here, and you like it/it was useful to you, please don’t forget to leave a like.
Very late on posting this week due to time constrains, not sure how helpful this post can be at this point, but posting for reference reason if nothing else.
I appreciate all of the work a few of you do tuning cars. They’re always very competitive and fun to drive.
El Barto, Breeminator, Betinhogvz, WangKeRui, and Tato.
Thanks for the kind words! For myself, my tuning is mostly about choosing cars I like, or are just cars I see no one using, while also trying to not use too many exclusives (although do use them, try to be sparing about it).
Will only say a little bit about each due to timing.
Online:
**Trial: “Forza in the Forest” | Dirt Racing | (C600) Classic Rally
**Car used: 1973 Ford Escort RS1600 (Autoshow 73,000 Cr)
**Tune: C600 Rally / 132 887 190
REFERENCE only, this car/my tune is not a good choice for this weeks Trial, although car/tune is a fun little driver for freeroam and/or solo/offline racing. The Escort can be good in the Trial, saw three myself, just my tune is slower than is useful, and so not a good choice. Will score points, but mid-pack. Tune is RWD, rally tires, no aero, mudflaps.
**Seasonal Playground Games | Mortimer Gardens | (B700) Trucks
**Car used: 2014 MB Unimog U5023 (Autoshow 100,000 Cr)
**Tune: B700 CC Games / 418 559 127
Good quick close gear changing Unimog, otherwise a truck, and behaves like a - well handling - truck. Tune is engine swapped for 12.8L inline six turbo, has exterior front roll-cage, rear tray with spare tire holder.
PR Stunts:
- Hillside Speed Zone, 1978 Hoonigan Ford Escort RS1800 - ‘S900 Rally Trial’ (680 307 281) - this was pain of a P.R. stunt, and about the limit for this car/tune here, a real struggle.
- Copse Speed Trap, 2019 Rimac Concept Two - ‘PR Stunt Rally’ (120 633 544),
- Roman Ruins Danger Sign, 2019 Rimac Concept Two - ‘PR Stunt Rally’ (120 633 544).
Solo championships - Raced against Expert, Steering: Simulation, ABS: on, Traction/Stability; Off, Gearbox: Auto.
**Championship: “Fully Loaded” | Dirt Racing | (A800) Super Saloons
**Car used: 2013 Cadillac XTS Limousine (HTF)
**Tune: A800 Rally / 100 104 748
Using the Limo, what can I say, it is surprisingly not bad as a rally car in this class/type. Tune is AWD, rally tires, rally suspension, supercharged. (same tune as used in Trial a few weeks back)
**Championship: “Sinatra Style” | Road Racing | (A800) Classic Racers
**Car used: 1959 Jaguar Mk ii 3.8 (Autoshow 80,000 Cr)
**Tune: A800 Road / 133 159 822
Cheaper, affordable end of the spectrum for this class/type of car, tune is also on the cheaper end I believe. Solid racer, including at Ambleside Circuit. Tune is AWD, Forza rear air, turbo, race tires
**Championship: “German Wheel” | Road Racing | (A800) Sports Utility Heroes
**Car used: 2016 Bentley Bentayga (Autoshow 180,000 Cr)
**Tune: A800 Road / 661 479 100
Purpose built road racing SUV, no offroad options/settings in tune. May not be the fastest choice among the class/type, but will get the job done. Slides in corners, while been stable and self-righting (can be abrupt), works well for the tracks in this event. Tune is race tires, race suspension (lowered ride height) no aero.
Thanks for your time.
Enjoy.
