Gables photo challenge
Uhh… photos not registering as complete??

Didn’t register for me at first either, after fast travelling there. Did do though after I moved camera to end of Gables driveway. Wider angle shot of car and house. Hope this helps someone :+1:

Bored of going on about my trial ‘teammates’ so I’ll simply put it like this…

Won race 1 because 2 of them quit.
Lost 2 + 3 with me winning both races and the other 3 scoring 0 and 200pts in total, even with the AI team having 3 I-Pace’s at A751.

Don’t know if it’s the best choice but I used an XJ-S from a previous Cult Cars championship.

Also just out of curiosity any particular reason why this week’s photo challenge is worth 5k instead of the usual 1k?

I think you are very unlucky. No one quit my team of randoms and we won 3250-400, 3150-500 and 2250-1400, despite most of them being fairly average.

I used a 1,200hp RWD D-type, tuned by RBM Codcaos. The easy way to drive this is pretty much to put it in 4th gear as quick as possible and leave it there. Any lower and you’ll need a lot of throttle control. Fun to use though - gets up well above 200 mph on the long straights on the last two courses.

Weirdest thing is it only ever seems to happen to me in the simplest trials, whenever it’s a trial where people struggling is understandable to a degree like in CC trials I end up in good teams.

Like I’ve said a few times on here lobbies would help so much with something like this in the game, the current matchmaking gives you no info on who you’re in with in any mode until you’re dropped into the first race, I wouldn’t have even bothered if I’d seen that team beforehand, all 5 were low level + in untuned cars.

Games was entertaining, I used an 81 scirocco tuned for games in the past, 983 145 771. The trial was a different story. Championship won but a couple of suv teammates were having some challenges with corners. I couldn’t really evaluate the tune so I am planning on giving it another go in a bit.

The Gables picture registered for me. Edit: it worked from across the road but with the house in clear view.

Edit: it seems the best cars might be in the millions but the 59 Jaguar MK II worked well for me winning several races. Often in the third race I’ll hang back to stay out of the way if we won the first two.
59 jag mk ii 3.8 tune:, 551 786 059

For the Singer 911 championship there are so many entertaining options but I decided on the Diablo. I ran it on unbeatable.

Just finishing up the last of the seasonal items… In the cult car championship and weekly challenge I used a Datsun 510. It’s cheap and a RL favorite. Upgraded from the C600 power build race tune to A800 for the challenge with many parts overlap.
A800: 799 718 454
C600: 159 383 875

The buggies in cross country is generally never enjoyable to me. I found the Mini tolerable but the shining star for me was the class 5 VW bug. Very easy comparatively, and a nice drive.

Quite enjoyed most of the events this week. Trial was good racing, the team won 3-0 without any issues (used an E-Type); Cult Car rally (Datsun 710 or whatever model it is) was a bit harder but still fun; Retro Supercar (the Porsche Stratten-something) was tough as the AI had way more top end speed than me (apparently a 7.7 is way too slow!).

Then we get to the Offroad Buggies…no clue what is going on with it. Tried the Ariel buggy thing which I know drives well from previous uses (though haven’t driven it recently) and it was pretty much undrivable…gave up when I saw the Maverick’s were gone into the distance never to be caught…so, let’s try the Maverick (given it’s apparently so good) and lower the difficulty to Highly Skilled…well, the Maverick handled better but was miles slower than the other Maverick. Gave up as there was no way I was going to win. The handling on the offroad buggies is just atrocious compared to what I have experienced before, both the Ariel and the Maverick. Not helped by the worsening of the AI who will just veer across the road and into you for no reason (without any aggressiveness from me). Maybe I have simply become a bad driver in anything that is offroad. I dunno…was enjoying this season until that event.

LOL first attempt at Trial, DCD  Try again

If you’re a good driver who is let down by teammates in the Trial, what I found to be the meta last week was to use a car that is tuned but is 50 PI below the max. A well tuned car at that level can still win every race, but you’re reducing the PI of the drivatars your teammates have to beat. If you go in at max PI, then you have a problem if all your teammates are at low PI, and if you go in with a low PI stock car, you can have a problem if all your teammates are at max PI (you might find it impossible to get ahead of the drivatars to slow them down). At 50 PI below max, I was still able to out-launch everyone else, get into the lead, and control the race.

Does multiple players entering the Trial with this -50pi tactic cause this affect to stack? The more entering with -50, the greater the drivatar pi reduction? Or is it just the same as if only one that comes in at -50?

As Jezza said, it matches the humans fairly closely. If everyone entered at 750 it would be much the same as everyone entering at 800, or everyone entering at 720, but the thing about a well tuned 750 car is you’re hedging your bets in terms of it not mattering so much what your teammates do. Most of the time, it doesn’t matter, but I did it once last week at max PI and it did cause a problem when every teammate was at low PI. This week I just used whichever car is at 755 stock, and did fine with that, beating most humans who were at 800 for 2 of the 3 races, but then they got fed up of finishing behind me and kept ramming me off the track in race 3 when we were 2-0 up. Whatever, you know, if they like “winning” in that fashion, LOL.

The Trial was seriously annoying this week. So-called team mates that barge their way past & weave around everywhere, then they loose it on the corners. Plus drivatars that seem to have the sole purpose of driving you off the road or spinning you out. I quit the first attempt part way through race 2, after getting a case of red mist. On the second attempt, we won races 1 & 2, but we really should have lost race 2 - The drivatar team well outscored us, but then it came up & said that we’d won, so I have no idea what went on there ??

Speed zone Autumn and F 512s
Did I miss something, Screenshot - 26d5319e54da0fbd5f3f9d4d41a69eff - Gyazo This is what I’ve got atm… the speed zone was the last, that one gave me the 50% on the series so I gained the pass and the gmc typhoon for the 50% Autumn, but for some weird reason I recived too the Ferrari 512s, no complains here because I didnt have the car but… where¿? It wast from any series reward as far as I know and I didnt find anything on the My horizon life rewards.

I got the Typhoon about 15 hours ago.

The game seems to roughly match PI per driver, so if you have 6 players at A800 the drivatars will all be near 800 pi. If you have one guy entering at A701, you will see one drivatar at a low 700s number and so on.

No new car this season? Can I skip the job this time? Would be nice, because it’s so boring.

If you only complete the events to get newly released cars, then there’s no point in you playing this week.

Personally; I look at what’s about to drop for the upcoming week, then I put my cars up for auction, so that I can then win replacements.
It makes it a bit more interesting, rather than completing a task for a car that I already have.
There are 2 cars that I still need to get from the backstage, but apart from that, and not counting DLC cars, there’s only the Focus PO and the Maserati Levante that I need to get.

Hey, I do this too! (I have all the cars in the game so I only really need to play for the new ones).
Gives some incentive to play through the series and win the cars back again.
Plus you usually get better auction prices this way (oops - secrets out!)
