Some of them are pretty challenging for me, others are so easy it’s silly, and anyone remotely competent would do them at a canter. Like the speed zone this week.
The danger jump took me half a dozen tries to get a clean landing but otherwise was very very easy again.
The drift zone was slightly challenging though my PB was already better than the requirement. I got 53k in the end and that is a subpar score which is only in the top 8% of the leaderboard.
There was a danger jump a month or two ago which took me hours to get. It provoked a lot of discussion online where people discussed what cars and tunes to use, the line to take etc. That is how it should be! A real challenge. And a real feeling of satisfaction when you do it.
There is just so big variation of skill of players that making real challenge is not so easy when need to think abaout more casual players also, like this week drift zone less than 25% of players that is get score there is done 3 stars so in most peoples just to getting current seasonal target score would be challenge and same time i did all this week PR stunts in first try without never even watching what seasonal targets are. Sure it would be great if those would be more challencing but in same time i realize that then those would be too challencing too many players.
Just the opposite for me. I more than nailed the danger zone on the first try. I can’t even come close (within 20 mph) on the speed zone. I will keep at it, even though I am currently at 81% for the new week already. I just need the speed zone, drift zone and the rest of the dailies.
I’m genuinely surprised by that. I sometimes put up a YouTube video of me doing these events but only if I think they’re sufficiently tricky that the average person might struggle with it. The last few weeks they were all so easy I didn’t bother.
Sounds like me … the danger sign I aced first jump (Toyota Baja truck) … the speed zone took quite a few attempts in various cars … think it was Mclaren Senna that got it for me
IIRC the one that sparked a lot of chat was the winter windmill - it was soooooo much farther than the 3* and the run up was on snow!
1,201 ft on the Mam Tor danger sign was a good one which took me hours to get. I wish they all had that kind of difficulty.
I used an MC12 FE for the speed zone this week but the Mosler tops the leaderboards. Anything tuned towards handling and max downforce is my preference and I think most people would find such tunes easier, so it isn’t so much about the car but how it’s set up. ie. there will be McLaren Sennas which are tuned to understeer in exchange for top speed, which isn’t generally good for speed zones.
Hopefully this 80% fix will go in soon so I can skip the drifting challenge.
As someone who doesn’t ‘get’ drifting and hasn’t completed the stories, all I have to show for trying is a migraine, motion sickness, and a top fluke score of 33,000. And the target is 46,000? Nope.
The drift stories can be completed and 3 starred with Traction Control switched on, so you don’t spin out so much. Just steer side to side and you don’t need to try too hard to control the drift as TCS does it for you. Once you have enough points, drive normally to the finish so you don’t run out of time
The 80% target is a good start, but still kindof grindey, and I think still requires the co-op trial, which I have never won. So I’m probably still not going to bother with it. A little more adjustment wouldn’t hurt.
But, I’m just going to throw this out there as a suggestion while it’s on my mind to see what others think about it:
You know how the Fortune Island seasonal prizes are always just wheelspins? That’s fair. That way, even people who don’t own the DLC still have a chance at the exclusive content prizes.
But, what if people who did own the DLC could have Fortune Island and the future yet-to-be-named DLC seasonals count toward their completion. That way, people who don’t own the DLC don’t have to buy it if they don’t want to, and still have a shot at the playlist prizes. But people who do own the DLC have more options as to how they go about completing the playlist.
Seriously, I went into Fortune Island this week for the first time in weeks, because I’d been grinding at all the mainland chores. Now that I’ve done most of what there is to do over there, I often forget I even have it. Give me a reason to go back.
I havent completed any of this season’s events cause the season switches over as my work shift starts. I dont mind helping people complete the co-op stuff, at this point I only do ranked. Just add me. 2 or 3 good drivers against the drivatars or even the PG games will be a slight advantage
I used the Hoonigan RS200 from last week’s Forzathon to bang out the drift and jump PR. Super easy with that car. And the Mosler for the speed zone ran almost 10mph over the PR speed needed.
As for the new 80% completion… I tried to 100% last month. Did the Playground Games for the first time and managed to win but hated every second of it. Also did the Trial for the first time ever and really enjoyed it. However trying to get ranked to satisfy that requirement and getting disconnected twice after finishing 5 rounds really was not cool. Glad I can skip that now. Otherwise as long as the events are actually playable, I like the new format. Not really looking forward to more Playground Games but small price to pay for a nice car.
I couldn’t get the #25 rtr mustang and, gotten to 50% and, not yet received the car. If someone else is experienced this problem please support this reply so others could get this car too. Please fix!
From what i can tell, it doesn’t automatically give you the car until you click on the Festival Playlist tab AFTER you have reached the 50%/100% goal. The tab should have a small circle with a number in the lower corner, just like with a standard menu tab notification. Once you click on the FP tab, you should get a notice about the cars, and they will then be added to your garage.
So, let me get this straight…the completion reduction from 100% to 80%, does that apply to the weekly challenges, or the monthly series total, or both? Does that mean we can get the Ford Capri FE at the end of series 7 with only 80% completion?
I tried to scan over quickly because I like the surprise of seeing it in-game but woohoo finally the Colorado is available and the Playlist improvements look reasonable.
I am pleased Playground games are doing the 80% thing as it gives me options. A little wiggle room is good. I admire those who are skilled and talented enough to make very difficult challenges look easy, I however am not one of them. Now if I have a challenge I dislike or am not as skilled as I would like at I can pass over some. If players like the challenge they can still do tend 100% but if someone can’t get to 100% it won’t cost them the cars. There still may be challenges I can’t get but I feel much better knowing that I have options to pass on some of them…Thank you Playground Games!
