I’ve pretty much given up on that challenge. The car just slows down for some reason at the last turn even though it’s downhill and I’m at full throttle. Tried every tune there was and after about 2.5 hours of pure rage and frustration I just gave up. I only play what’s necessary to get the new cars anyway and I don’t need forza points so badly that I’m willing to put up with that kind of garbage.
I guess I should have posted this several days ago, but I don’t consider myself some super solid player that others can try to emulate. I did this on just a few tries. If you want you can check my tune (I know it is over now, but just to do it or for if they repeat this). Anyway: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=geNFHiTtVbI
That was, I think the 4th try? I don’t think I am super awesome by any means, but I don’t think that was a rough challenge. Unless I am missing something here…
I think I’ve always done it uphill rather than downhill. I don’t want to run the game up right now to see if it’s faster that way or not, but it might be worth you trying it uphill. I got 3 stars on the speed zone with about 10mph to spare on my 2nd try with my S2 tune. I’m not saying that in the sense of “if I can do that, everyone should be able to do it”, as I know that’s not true, I’m just saying there’s quite a big margin for people slower than me to still be able to do it. When you say the car slows down, do you have traction control on?
This speed zone gets easier to beat if you straighten out the corners.
Before making your speed run, slow down a little and knock down all of the stone and fence barriers… If you avoid straying too far from the ends of the zones, those barriers will remain out of your way. I finally did a 145.59 after straightening out the racing line so you should be able to beat the 135.0 goal whether you decide to run uphill or downhill…
BTW, I was running with a Don Joewon Song tune from 9/26/19.
Yeah, the speed zone is PITA, my last to 3 star, but tbh I was surprised that Chirion did it on first try.
I max tuned the car for speed (that 420kph), so aero was turned down somewhat, some minor adjustments to suspension, but still had some grip.
First I did try to download some tunes, but that just wasn’t what I prefer - many turn cars into drift machines, where there should be grip.
I drive with keyboard and prefer grip, so sometimes downloaded tunes just don’t cut it. In that case I try and come with my own.
So in the end I do love it when everything is done in a blink of an eye, but sometimes, just sometimes its fun to put some thinking and effort into doing things.
I did that speed zone uphill and tune was just slapped together, nothing anyone else can do themselves and was actually not meant for grip - max parts, turn down aero a bit, put some camber, set gear ratio and transfer more power to front with differential, as default has way too much power to the back and makes car slide. I usually run with 65% to back (55% offroad) and 2-3° camber. Here is also room to play with toe in/out, to make it a bit more stabile and get some proper turn in. Driven with keyboard, only assist used is ABS. Good luck
I had no problem with Bugatti speed zone. Went down 1st, turned around and got it going up hill. Winning 4 races with it was a bigger challenge. I really dislike Bugatti overall. They are terrible to drive. I Guess one of the metrics they’re trying to improve on is time spent in game since a lot of people probably drop in to knock out the playlist and then dip. For me, it has the opposite effect. Creating a challenge where you have to win 4 races in a terrible car makes me not want to waste another second with the game. If you want people to spend more time with the game, come up with something enjoyable.
I made a track to do 261 mph, and I made the Ai go a bit further around the course, but I also decided to win the 4 races on the same track as well. Usually I do proper races, but the traffic was impossible on Solo mode to do 261 mph.
I thank PG for reminding me this week just how overrated modern Bugatti’s are, they have been absolutely shocking to drive throughout the series, right from the 1st Veyron in FM3.
Dull, boring sounding engines, poor steering and AWD, they are the worst cars for me to drive in any game because I lose interest in concentrating almost immediately.
I think I would find that Nissan Sunny that Top Gear set on fire years ago with a dragster for how supposedly bland it was more interesting and engaging than any modern day Bugatti.
X-class Veyron can be very fun PR stunt car for some Playlist events and Forzathon Live. Lot’s of power, I once 3starred S-Bends Drift Zone with it during Forzathon Live, sort of hilarious. I have read that Chiron can be fun like that too. I don’t like neither Veyron or Chiron as racers, but they have their uses.
Having a grievance for a player, and then taking it out on the whole team can be judged by evolution which we are a part of. A species that hinders the survival of the fittest due to grievance would go extinct. These games exist, because we are following the rules of evolution, and we enjoy the games, because our brains are in tune with evolution, we want to become the best at a game, because we want to exist as the ‘fittest’.
Most of psychology comes from nature, and so you can judge it from nature. the ruling of this situation to punish the team goes against nature, and so it is wrong.
I think some people are not reading the post quite correctly.
I did not say i do this all the time. I said i did it when the team was left with the players who were causing grief.
Some ppl posting think it’s unfair to those players, well i don’t and i couldn’t care less for them. If they want to ruin others chances of a fair and clean win then they deserve everything they get.
That includes players like me deliberatly quitting/handing the race to the AI so as to teach these idiots a lesson in gameplay sportmanship.
The only players affected in my circumstances were the players who caused trouble, everyone else quit way beforehand because of those players actions.
I see nothing wrong with it at all. I’m actually quite bemused that some are defending bad players and their actions, what they don’t realise is that it makes me more determined not to gift bad players a win.
You cannot force another player to continue playing with and for other bad (and just downright nasty) players.
Any situation in real life where people were acting against the group would result in that person being ostracised. No good has ever come from anything where an individual (or group) has actively sought to sabotage the efforts of others within the group.
I’m sure the Playlist Tickers and OCD people could care less if they have wallrider teammates or have to carry a bunch of leeches, just as long as they get their precious percentage points and don’t have to repeat it again.
But not everyone is one of those types. There are people who play Trials out of pure enjoyment for the mode and that’s okay too. Wallriding and ramming is just as bad in Trials as it is in PVP, These people shouldn’t have to put up with such dirty tricks that ruin the fun of the game mode. And as I said in a previous post, cheating AI is not an excuse. Unbeatable AI really isn’t that difficult to beat and if you can’t pass them cleanly, time for you to git gud.
That being said, no one is asking for the idiots (on the chance that one of them stumbles upon this post) to be Grandma Driving levels of good. Just be decent enough to know what brakes are and don’t ram. That’s all.
