when you have an accident, the car does not downshift correctly and stays in second or third, taking several seconds to shift into first gear and continue with the correct gear order, I have already lost quite a few races due to this bug
Yeah, I frequently have this problem in the Eliminator, I find that the only way to fix is is to put it in reverse, which, fortunately, you often have to do after a crash anyway.
Asking for fixes is completely pointless. nothing will ever happen. Them being so slow at fixing anything makes me pretty certain that like 95% of the team is already working on FH6 so they can charge you 100 Bucks again as soon as possible. all you can do is hope for a less bugged FH6 - which is very unlikely since several bugs from FH4 found their way into FH5. So I wouldn’t be too surprised seeing all this mess in FH6 again
Best forza you’ll play is just before it goes EOL. The downside is that you’ll be unable to get some stuff that you want.
Not sure if i will buy a next forza also, maybe TDU or GT.
I’d say this is the perfect opportunity to learn manual mode in Forza, it opens so many doors to better, faster driving but also better drifting as you can choose the gear you’re in, as well as allowing you to better enjoy cruising as you can shift down to increase revs and get pops and bangs with some cars.
The auto gearbox taking a long time to realise you want a lower gear is also quite realistic, as many lower-end (not dual clutch) transmissions in cars can be quite slow to change gear as they want to be as fuel efficient as possible, forcing a higher gear and lower revs - where a lower gear would be much more beneficial - this is the reason many auto gearboxes have active select or manumatic modes as they are more commonly known.
I am not sure the car going 5-10mph in 4th gear for a few seconds is realistic? Then again, I’ve never driven an auto gearbox in real life so maybe it is.
Regarding switching to manual, agreed that it may “potentially” make you faster but not everyone can use manual gears. For me, my brain cannot keep up with changing gears, focusing on accelerator and braking as well as turning corners etc…so I run automatic which allows me to solely focus on cornering etc. Then again, I also use buttons for accelerate and brake as I can’t cope with the triggers. Auto gears tends to make the most impact in lower speed cars with low power…however, you can still be fast despite that…I currently have a Top 10 Rivals time (least I did a couple of days ago) on one of the Street Races in a D Class car and can usually be in the Top 1000 for most Rivals.
At this point I was thinking “hey, I was the same, I could give a few pointers…”
And at this point I went “Oh… well, not the same :)”
But overall you’re right - you can be fast with auto as well. you also would be faster on manual but it’s always down to the personal choice in the end.
It doesn’t just happen with accidents. It’ll get stuck in gear sometimes when landing hard from a jump. I usually have to brake into reverse to get it to work properly again.
