Cutscene engine audio appeara to have near disappeared. Doing the new NASCAR career tour and at every track in all the cutscenes (leaving pits, returning to pits, leaving pitbox in race during a pitstop) and the engine sound is soooo faint.

Doesn’t sound like American Thunder to me!
There’s all kindsa car volume issues going on. For example, at the start of the race during the timer, your car along with other cars are really quiet. Then once the race begins, the car volume kind of normalizes.
Also, during the pit exit sequences, car volume can seem suppressed. Another example is when you’re driving in a pack, the other cars almost completely drown out your own engine noise, even if you are in cockpit. that’s bizarre, to say the least.
