In the game currently a 4G63 fully maxed out makes 650 some HP! WHAT IS THIS?
A stock 4G63 with E85 and a bigger turbo can make that power, and here we put a stroker kit on it and forged pistons! Nevermind the rest of the upgrades! 4G63 with all the upgrades listed in the game should EASILY make 1,200HP, plus on big boost we’re talking 1,500+
In reality they’re S1 stock simply because of center dif and yaw control. With top ugprades they should be X, they’re simply better than any supercar when they get mods
It would be neat if the Evos and GTRs had working S-AWC and ATTESSA-ETS… I’ll admit that’s above-and-beyond. Only an indie game would attempt to cram such a feature for novelty’s sake. Not to mention the PI balance.
Evos are not broken in the game. They belong in A class where their counterparts the Subarus are at their best.
Also “bigger turbo + e85” on 4G does not result in 650hp. Also those 1500hp are called “drag racing builds” and are made of “turbo lag”. And as a person who actually builds cars in real life - there is NO SUCH THING, as an “Easy 1250hp” no matter the engine.
Evos kick rears in A800 rally, which is the proper way to run them and not the tuner BS. Who cares?
Besides, most of these engines “can” run 800, 1000 bhp for a period of time that becomes exponentially shorter the further you push them.
RB26DETT can’t go more than 700 bhp IIRC but it doesn’t really hurt the game either, it’s not as if the Skylines needed this amount of power.
And they’re not the only engine with incorrect power ratings either. Flat-4 on the Beetle should do more, instead it’s made weak on purpose to force you to swap to Subaru 2.0T, which pushes this car way too high in PI numbers. Would’ve been better to swap an NA Subaru engine (there’s even a donor in the game, the BRZ!) or NA conversion to WRX engine with turbo deletion. It’s just a myriad of possibilities the devs don’t explore because of lack of time and/or awareness.
Usually you have to select either grip, speed or balance in-between when tuning cars, this doesn’t work with the Evos however as they lack both grip and speed no matter how much you tune them.
A full downforce Evo X with race tires and weight reduction only has a lateral G of 1.32 @ 161km/h, in S1 thats damn low not to mention the top speed when tuned for max downforce is an abysmal 300km/h.
In comparison when I tuned my Vantage GT12(not even a class leading car) to max downforce in S1, it has a lateral G of 1.58 @ 161km/h and a top speed of 318km/h.
Maybe I just suck at tuning, but my attempts with the Evos have resulted in lackluster speed, acceleration and grip even with V8 swaps(heresy).
They might work in B class, but in A and S1 they’re slow and slippery.
And the engines in Top Fuel Dragsters are big ol’ HEMI engines that can make 10,000 horsepower, but in the game they only max out at around 1,000? We should fix this!!!
(Just joking around. I don’t care if you can only get 600 hp out of an evo, much.)
There are a lot of stock cars I wish made 50-100 more hp fully built. The H1 Hummer with the stock Detroit… tops out at 823 and can barely reach A800 with every single available upgrade including aero. If it made 1000 the extra upgrades wouldn’t be necessary and it could be competitive with an interesting power band and unique exhaust note.
