Are some base cars locked behind the Playlist?

Hi, following some content creators that could get their hands on the preview build just for showing a bit of the game… though It’s on the AMG Project one and the Raesr Tachyon Speed that I’m worried… I’ve looked at BlackPanthaa’s video and I’ve seen both of those cars marked as exclusive on the Festival Playlist screen… I mean I’m okay with the Delorean being locked, but seeing the main cover car being locked as well seems both alarming and disappointing for me, if you can confirm that they are available on the Autoshow… it would help.

And maybe the AE86 or the Celica ST205.

Having watched someone running through the Autoshow on a preview version, the Project One and AE86 both appear to be in the Autoshow. No sign of the Raesr though. I guess it may be different in the final version but I’d be very surprised if the Project One was an exclusive.

Hey Jezza the Raeser appeared in the Playlist (I think season competition) on the last Go live stream so it’s definitely there just needs to be unlocked.

The stuff on the playlist could be Forza Edition versions, which I am 100% ok with being locked behind the playlist. Better than trying to get them randomly through a wheelspin.

I don’t know I’m just guessing here. We do however know that there is a Forza Edition of the Project One, so my theory has some legs.

Well that’s nice, the cover car having it’s special edition on launch, I just hope it is the Forza edition that IS on this season of the Playlist on launch. Cause as I’ve mentioned with my previous post, I’ve looked further and I can confirm that on summer, the Delorean and the AM DBS SL, on autumn, A civic ´84 and the Radical RXC Turbo, Zerouno and Subaru 22B and Winter with the Tachyon Speed and the Trueno… and on the Month you can get the Project ONE and the McLaren F1… All of these 10 cars are exclusive on the screen.

Hi Brusk. Yes, I know the Raesr is in game. I was comparing the fact it isn’t in the Autoshow (so looks like an exclusive) to some of the other cars mentioned by the OP, which do seem to be Autoshow options.

Get over it already, geez. If it’s so important and precious to you, then jump through their little hoop and unlock it. Or, starting from zero, would you rather come up with a few hundred million credits first for the autoshow? Consider it a blessing that you have the opportunity to earn it for free via 20 min of playlist (approximation) early in the game instead of having to find the time to grind all those credits.

There is a more than 0% chance that I won’t be able to play one of those weeks. I’m fine with that prospect when it comes to new content (cars) being added to the game, but for cars that are launching with the game, that really doesn’t sit right with me. The DeLorean situation doesn’t sit right with me. However, if the other cars are Forza Edition versions of the cars, and the base cars are in the autoshow, I’m A-OK with that. It’s a good way to make those Forza Editions a little more exclusive feeling, and add appeal to the first series.

I’m not hating upon the fact it is locked behind the playlist, i’m just asking if it would be available on the autoshow, though yeah, i understand that the “dissapointment” from me was a bit harsh

I noticed the Celican ST205 isn’t in the Autoshow.

I’m sure we’ll see them again in future playlists, not to mention the auction house.

Forza Editions are, with few exceptions, junk throw-aways. Clone cars with small +whatever attributes add little to the game beyond garage clutter. Every FE introduced means one less opportunity for a desirable highly requested car to be added to the roster.

Nova FE was one of the best A800 cars in Horizon 4. 8C FE and MC12 FE were very competitive.
This time PG upped the ante with them again - at least visually.

Spoilers ahead - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Drag Pontiac GTA, high-powered Beetle, track-focused X5M with an insane aero-kit, Huayra BC that looks like a Huayra-based reincarnarnation of the Zonda R, a track Corvette C1 or an offroad MB Tankpool race truck.
Performance remains to be seen but visually they are very distinct from the base cars. Gone are the days of a M6 FE that only had different perks.

You are, of course, correct. Nova FE was one of the strongest, and others did have utility in certain areas; the aforementioned are exactly why I included “with few exceptions” in my statement. (And now that I think about it, and to your point, I also recall you saying once long ago the Falcon FE was one of your personal online go-to’s at that time though I may be mistaken, if so, my apologies.) I just get so salty when I think about all the many clones added into the game; to me that sort of gimmick is a total slap in the face to players. If something is going to get some sort of performance buff, I would much rather see the numbered cars, real race cars with real stories, get that kind of consideration.

That all said, I was not aware the FE’s were getting visual treats this time around, which is definitely an added and more interesting value out from the base version.

You might check the Huayra BC Forza edition cause not only it’s spoiler is looking like the Zonda R, plus, asides from some exceptions… FEs have overall better attributes in general or in specific things, like the Aventador FE of FH4, that one was specialized around drag racing.
If some of them are returning to FH5, it’s great cause there might be balance changes since Devs are really working on it.

The Celica ST205 would also be a good barn find.

It looks like only half of the cars will be available to buy in the Autoshow at launch. The rest will be exclusives locked behind the playlist etc. or barn finds.

But is that a surprise to anyone?

The cars will be drip fed to us in the same way as FH4 to keep people playing as long as possible

Here are 7 cars missing from the Autoshow that would make good barn finds:

DeLorean
Austin Healey 3000
Pontiac GTO Judge
Porsche 550A Spyder
Subaru 22B
1963 VW Beetle
Maserati 300 S

Can anyone suggest any others?

Edit: SuperGT was kind enough to scroll through the Autoshow in his YouTube video. I counted 439 in total, but I could have added or missed a few

Edit 2: Added the Maserati 300 S

Edit 3: No Alfa Romeo in the Autoshow?

I noticed that the 2017 Alpine A110 was not on the Autoshow from the early access videos that I’ve seen.
I just hope that it isn’t a festival playlist car again as I might miss out on playing the game in certain weeks.
I just want to cruise in it as much as I can.

In comparison to the Horizon Promo overview the autoshow does look thinned out indeed.
All prepared for a live-service model to keep players engaged for months. After Horizon 4 no surprise.

You can spin this only to a certain point though. I hope they come up with a “Horizon Backstage” thing faster this time. Time-limiting this amount of cars will backfire eventually.

Moss - no Alfa Romeo are shown in the “promo overview” which contains the more detailed car list either. Probably just licensing wasn’t fully sorted in time for the preview version.
