Welcome to my paint gallery! I appreciate your visit. I have been meaning to do this for quite some time, but much like my crazy schedule stops me from painting as much as I would like to, it also stops me from posting my work as quickly as I’d like. Anyhow, we’re here and we’re started up on what hopefully will become a great collection of my paints from Forza which I hope to hear your thoughts about in the comments.
Being a huge NASCAR fan, you’ll see mostly NASCAR related paints here. I like trying to branch out and change things up here and there, so every once and a while I may wander away from stock car stuff. I love drifting in-game, so some paints will cross over onto some drift chassis for sure, and I’ll try to post about them when they do. This series of games has hurt the painting community since we’ve been without a storefront, so I’ll do my best to treat this thread as if it was my own storefront page. You may always feel free to message me for some alternate color schemes and to ask about certain logos that you’d like to download. Any communication about anything is extremely welcome here and I encourage all you lurkers out there to drop in and say hi!
Now, without further ado, let’s show off some fresh paint!
PREVIOUSLY COMPLETED WORK:
Ryan Newman 2001 Alltel Ford (NASCAR Winston Cup Series) Painted on the 2017 #22 Team Penske Pennzoil Ford Fusion
Martin Truex Jr. 2007 Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet (NASCAR Nextel Cup Series) Painted on the #24 Hendrick Motorsports Napa Super Sport
NEW WORK! Harry Gant’s #33 1988 Skoal Bandit (NASCAR Winston Cup Series)
I was inspired to do this paint upon the request of fellow user KENorSEAN. A buddy of his had recently gotten to buy a race-driven Monte Carlo AeroCoupe painted as the 1988 Skoal Bandit car driven by Harry Gant. '88 was a down season for Gant, but he would redeem himself over the next 4 seasons with 9 wins, finishing in the top-10 in the final season standings 3 of those years. As a huge Bill Elliott fan, getting to paint a car he competed against in his championship-winning season has been a lot of fun!
Some notes about this one-- Obviously, we don’t have the Aerocoupe in this game, so I painted on the hatch glass where it would be. From a few angles it’s pretty convincing. Also, the contingency decals are laid out based on the car that user KENorSEAN posted photos of on his Flickr. His photos are high quality so I could really see all of them, and it was just the easiest reference available to base this off of. The contingencies changed from race to race back then, so many original photographs of this car show it with differing contingency layouts.
I worked super hard on this one and I’m really proud of the way it looks. I hope you guys enjoy it!
P.S. - I found that stock wheel size with the ATS Classic rims (“Specialized Rim Style”) looks most similar to the real thing. For the right stance, I have the suspension all the way lowered in the front and at 8 inches in the rear.
I’m seeing this now for this first time, and am completely blown away! This is fantastic! Incredible work! My friend recently sold the car after it was authenticated and autographed, I think my friend made quite a bit of money on the deal to let it go… I will be sharing for certain, absolutely love it!
