Tried to use the Forza Motorsport 7 profile for my next level racing motion V3. Set the settings correctly in the game but not getting anything in the chair to move. Wondering if anybody has figured anything out or what I might check that I could be doing wrong. It’s also possible that the Forza Motorsport 7 profile will not work. Their support said to give it a try as they don’t have a profile yet.
SimHub is already updated with a new version. But FM(8) worked with the FM7 profile too. I just put the same ip and port in the hud settings of FM(8).
Good to hear about simhub. I’ll have to see if I can get simvibe working but if nothing else then maybe simhub will be my go-to for vibration on Forza
Nice to see that some companies have their profiles available. When I open the diagnostic for the motion sim it doesn’t show any input. Using the same IP address and port from Forza Motorsport 7 with a cloned profile so it should at least get data.
Hi Guys, anyone figured it out yet? Can’t get my NLR v3 moving in Forza 8 whatsoever
cloned Forza 7 profile did not work either.
I got a response back from support. Apparently the data out in this new version is a different format. They did not have access to a beta version of the game to test it. And according to support they won’t have the game until it’s official release. I think this is pretty weak on their part, they could have reached out and gotten a beta version of the game I’m sure. And if nothing else they should have gotten the pre-release version so they could test the data. I mean the game only costs a few bucks. Anyway as soon as they get the game they will adjust and create a new profile to handle the data.
I have a motion v3 as well and got an update yesterday for platform manager, however I am using the unbranded version from motion systems themselves which can be downloaded from their website. A while back I noticed that they were quicker with updates than the NLR branded version. So if NLR did not release an update you can get the motion systems version. It works exactly the same.
Btw have not started FM yet as I am working but will try and set it up tonight!
A new update pushed for my v3 this morning. Support for FM8 is there now.
So excited, been playing the first couple days without it and it’s just not the same. Thanks for the update. I hadn’t even booted it as I assumed it would take them more than a few days after I chatted with them. Great to see awesome support from a company.
Yeah, their support is top notch. Have fun. If you make any adjustments to the v3 config for FM8, feel free to post em
It looks like it copied over my Forza 7 settings but I made some adjustments. Here’s currently where I’m at…
Overall gain 0.81, overall sharpness 0.70
Body roll gain 1.15, body roll sharpness 0.80
Vertical GForce gain 0.90, vertical gforce sharpness 0.80
Longitudinal g-force gain 0.90, longitudinal g-force sharpness 0.60
Lateral g-force gain 1.30, lateral g-force sharpness 0.90
Weight transfer bias 0.00
Road harshness gain 0.50, sharpness 0.50, low speed 30.00
The only thing I wish there was a separate setting for shift effect. But I don’t think Forza sends that data independently. The motion sim moves too abruptly during shifting. Especially on cars that have modern transmissions, you should only feel a slight movement. But it’s using the longitudinal G-Force setting I believe for that and it’s getting data from Forza that seems too high. I love longitudinal force as that’s what affects braking and acceleration, and that feeling is really cool. But setting that value high means every time you shift you get snapped in the chair.
Hey anybody using the next level racing motion V3. Everything seems to work great except the weight transfer bias is working opposite to the description. So it will tell you that if you use a negative value it will amplify acceleration effects and a positive value will amplify braking effects. This is working opposite to the text description. I have reached out to my support contact.
Anyone notice the lack of bumps on the tracks? The surfaces of the tracks in other sims feed my transducers and g-seat so I feel the bumps, dips and such but the tracks in Forza Motorsport don’t do that, I do feel the curbs but nothing on the tracks surface.
I can’t unfortunately comment specific to motion rigs - but I can say that the telemetry out provided by FM8 is patchy (some of the data is populated, some is not).
There is another thread doing the rounds specific to telemetry for Simhub where @PJTierney has been working on some Simhub specific overlay features - one of the issues that has arisen in that thread is specifically the inconsistency of telemetry data provided - in so much as most of it is missing.
Do you get any feedback at all from bumps on any track? It is entirely possible that the telemetry data required to feed your seat correctly (and transducers whatever they are?) is missing.
I tried 3 tracks, Maple Valley, Mid Ohio and VIR and I felt no bumps on any of them. I did feel the g-forces, acceleration, braking and cornering and I did feel the curbs but that was it. With VIR in AMS2 the bumps feel great but in FM it was smooth. I did get a refund for FM which was a bummer because I really liked the feel of the cars. BTW transducers are bass shakers.
