So I decided to try the Open A MP hopper tonight on XB1 and here’s what I experienced. …in an hour-and-a-half of play time.
Drivers able to start a race before the start timer counts down to 0.
Tunes (several) not loading.
Constant “Network Issue:Low bandwidth” messages even though I’m pulling down 85-100Mbps.
Car engine sounds completely cutting out while all other sounds played.
And the coup-de-gras? A crash to the dashboard.
What an absolute disaster of a release this is. I’ve been playing video games since the advent of video games and this is perhaps the worst “AAA” release I’ve ever seen. Even worse is that we are now a month out from said release with no relief in sight. Shameful…
Yes I’ve had all the problems you listed except the low bandwidth. I have a buddy that was testing on the Xbox he was pulling 200+ down, 20-30 up and 10-15 ping and was still getting the low bandwidth. Though he said it was not affecting him during the race as far as lag goes and he wasn’t lagging on any of our screens.
First point about a single driver getting a 3 second head start is at the bottom of my fix list
1 Crash to dash every 2-5 games is the most important to me personally because it’s sucks jumping into a hopper earning your front of the pack starting position just to be disconnected and dashed.
2 would be a combo of tunes not loading and the terrible laggy car selection during online races.
3 Is something I’ve only seen a handful mention but I had it happen 6 times in 2 hours today. Win a race select a new car or not and it just starts without you, says waiting for cars as normal but then the steering wheel pops up next to everyone but me.
And lastly the sound bug mainly because I’ve yet to run into it.
It was suggested in another thread that uninstalling and reinstalling would remedy the problem of crash to dash but unfortunately it does not change a thing.
The sound issue in MP may be because of a" chat bug". There is a Xbox system setting that drops the sound level to 50% by default that FM6 didn’t seem to use, but FM7 does(or it’s a bug). If you change that setting to “do nothing”. It should solve the engine levels cutting out, but could make chat a little tough to hear…but I end up muting the entire lobby anyway most of the time. Always someone with an open mic and trying to get through the laggy menu to mute them usually fails by the time the race starts. Even muting the entire lobby will not stop the volume from lowering to 50%. The setting is at this location should fix the sound. I’m very thankful to the gent who told me about it in another thread…
The dashboard crashes, when playing online, for some reason are way worse when I’m in the A class hopper vs the Endurance GT hopper. It may have to do with server load, but I don’t know. Usually crashes to the dashboard every 3 online races.
By the way T10, I’m still waiting on that Sport GT or S class hopper…with no “multiclass” nonsense.
This is by far the buggiest AAA release I’ve seen in a long time(maybe THE buggiest…). If there is a major patch to fix most of this mess next week, the Xbox 1X guys owe us big time for beta testing this game for them.
Now if this thing runs smooth as butter on the 1X without any patching…then we know where the development time went.
same problem for me on PC : crash in multiplayer every 3-4 races : (
I m very dispointed , major bug like this shouldn’t exist in a final release.
I ve a bad feeling, this game is actually more an alpha than a final version
Bring back the Manual Grid order in private lobbies. you just gave it to us, and decided to take it back.
buckets do not work with delays in private lobbies either.
*I know, probably not the same MP issues as the hoppers, but when I only race with club members it’s the only MP that matters to me. hoppers = brainless fools crashing you every race.
Yeah, I never play public hoppers. At about this time of a FM release I’d either be chasing Rivals leaderboard times or getting ready for the first series of the new release with a group I run with. The lack of class LBs and the boooring sanctioned Rivals events make the former unappealing and with FM7 in it’s current state the latter isn’t going to getting underway anytime soon. I was starting to get into FM6 leagues in the lull between 6 and 7 but they are nowhere to be found in 7. MP hoppers were just a hope for me to get some… any… enjoyment out of this game.
Just got off chat with Microsoft, I had no issues with multiplayer now suddenly i get Multiplayer unavailable, or Forza Motorsports multiplayer is unavailable, try again later… I paid 150$ for Ultimate, and all i am getting is[Mod edit - WSD - Profanity and alluding to profanity is against the Tos], they want me to uninstal, and redownload a 100 GB game, you would think that microsoft knows the value of bandwidth in this age of bandwidth limitations, i will be returning this game if i cant access multiplayer within 48 hrs…
