[ANSWERED] Game crashes on start screen (PC)

When I press “ENTER” on the starting screen, the game will load for a second and just close.

Any idea how to fix?

Are you experiencing this with the full game or the demo? Also, does this always happen when you press [Enter] at the start screen?

This is the full game. And yes I haven’t gotten the game to get past this screen yet.

My issue is sort of the same except its stuck at the start screen on PC and wont continue, while loading at the bottom right

How long have you been loading the game? If you reboot your computer, does this continue to happen?

I’ve gotten my game to work a total of one time so far for about an hour. I was first playing the game on my Xbox and then switched over to PC and miraculously it worked. However I later quit the game and have since been trying to start it again but am having the same issue.

There’s no error code or message, when I press start it will load for a second and then immediately freeze when switching to full screen, then the application closes to desktop.

I went to Event Viewer and checked both “Application” and “System” under Window Logs and sorted sources by alphabetical order, didn’t see Forza show up in either.

Same issue here. Game loads until I hit enter then it crashes. Tried restarting, updating all drivers, reset the game in Win10 apps and nothing. Looks like we paid $100 to be lab rats. Thanks T10!

Disable apps like AfterBurner that show FPS , and restart ur PC , it’s fixed my problem…

1 : check if all your Xbox-Services are enabled and that you didn’t uninstall any Xbox-Apps.
Right click start button “Run” and type “services.msc” , scroll down and check if they are either on “manual” or automatic", it should not be “disabled”

2 : you can try this , open Powershell as Administrator and type the following to reinstall Xbox-packages

For Windows Store problems try this.

3 : Still not working? then i need a little more information to help you out, what error are you getting, are you just crashing to desktop without any message? in that case check your event log viewer.

Right click start button “Run” and type “Eventvwr.msc” (press enter) … then on the left side look at “Windows Logs” → “Application” or “System” . you should see Forza7.exe (or whatever the exe file is called) in there somewhere.
If FM7 is in there, click on it and look below at the “Faulting module” or a “Exception code”.

Update. Closing all monitoring programs (Like afterburner or EVGA prec X) and updating drivers + resetting the app in Win10 worked for me.

I had the exact same problem both with the demo and the full game. It would load up the splash screen, after pressing enter the game would switch from windowed to full screen, the little spinning circle in the bottom right would stop spinning and the game would just close itself. After the fifth attempt it loaded up normally.

Could this be related to the recent Windows updates, I had one just before the demo came out and then another one yesterday to fix the bugs caused by the previous update.

Well after many tries, the game decided to work but all my graphics settings got changed to default (just throwing that info in there, not sure if it helps narrow down the issue at all)

This always happens to me when I start the game the first time.
It does not crash when I restart it.

I have exact same problem. No matter how many times I start the game it just closes. I have latest Win10 version and latest nVidia drivers.
I checked some logs and this is the error I get:

uhh… I reinstalled Forza and now it doesn’t even go past the first loading circle, I don’t get to the screen asking to press Enter. It stays infinitely on the first loading screen.
Seriously, how hard can it be to start a game :frowning:

Okay well, I’ve gotten Motorsport 7 to work a total of 3 times since last night. Now the application won’t even start (a window pops up for Forza Motorsport 7 but nothing loads, and Task Manager shows no Forza 7 application is running).

Between the issues with downloading, getting the game to load past the start screen once every dozen tries, and now this, I’ve pretty much given hope of playing the game on PC for a while.

I’ve been a die-hard Forza fan and have pre-ordered the best edition available every year, but I’ve lost a lot of faith the past few days. I support the franchise because I want to have fun but lately it has just been a ton of work and headache to play.

Gone are the days of skipping class/calling in sick the day after a new Forza installment release because it is such a struggle to even get the game running for many of us.

I’m having the same issues. Worked fine last night but now today can’t get past the rectangle windowed splash screen.

+1 i get the same problem…
