Another Flop for Drifters?

Been a while since I posted or even blew the dust off Forza.
Several years ago …maybe more, during Forza 3/4 days there werepublic lobbies and always a few dozen people actively drifting / tandems. The forums were buzzing with crews looking to get into the action and there was some real fun and competitive tandem events with a great community. Looks like that died off long ago. Anybody from back when still kicking around these parts?

Forza 5 took away the ability for us to just create a tandem lobby and have people jump in and out at their leisure. Then Forza 6 dropped and it was the same deal.
Was hoping by Forza 7 they would have brought the community what they needed to breath some life back into the franchise, but from what I am seeing online they have again not provided the ability for players to host their own public lobbies? Is this for real?

I understand you can do a LFG but c’mon, how have they managed to release another title that doesn’t have the features the games had on the last generation console?

Definitely a bummer. First thing I did when I had enough money to do so was buy an RX7 and build it to be a drift monster. I excitedly hopped into multiplayer to get my hopes destroyed. They added it later in Forza 6, so I’d like the assume they’d do the same here. I’m bummed nonetheless that a dev this size with this fan base wouldn’t just launch it from the get go. Bad move on their part, but they have my money and my hopes and I’m past my return period… Here’s to hoping.

I was on FM4 door 2 door lobbies all the time and it was awesome.

We need custom public lobbies again. Private lobbies is good and all, but most of the time I just want to hop in and do skids. In those cases I don’t care if I know the people or not. I just care that they flow.

the problem on the pubblic lobbies is that often came some retard kid to " race " and not drifting and he go straight to the finish line …

so he gets kicked after 1 event
That maybe happened at 1/100 events or even less.

yeah, i remember the days of the forza drift league in forza 3

used to go to different tracks and just find sections of 3 corners to tandem with the crew and then we’d turn around and do it in reverse, never even finishing a lap.

the good days when nobody drifted for points and everyone drifted for speed, angle and line

the drifting in FM7 feels really good like it did in FM3, but it seems like the overall popularity of racing games has declined since then. maybe FM7 will help revive that

I’ve only really been into drifting since FM5 and have been a public lobby drifter at that.

Currently FM7 doesn’t even have drift hoppers on the normal multiplayer end of things. Just the stupid arbitrary homologated categories like “Classic Touring” or “Sport Compact”.

Where’s the race mode specific hoppers? Drag is missing too.

Happens every forza the initial multi-hoppers are limited and everything comes out in a week or two. And legitimately it’s only been out for 4 days so hopefully next week everything should be live but leaderboard looks like it’s not happening because since fm2 though fm4 was always there on launch day unfortunately

it is kind of silly though how its become standard for companies to release seemingly unfinished games… someone else was right on the money when they said it feels like early access, sadly its not just forza… there will be more content released soon including more multiplayer content im sure
