An exciting find...

Hey,

I was looking for a list of cars with performance values on the web and I found one on the Forzamotorsport.wikia.com website. Amongst the cars on the list was one called the 2012 Chevrolet Mountain Dew #88 Camaro ZL1P. Now I’m pretty sure this isn’t in the game so far which leads me to think it’s DLC that someone has accidently left in this list before it’s released. The other exciting thing about this find is that it’s a stock car, or Nascar. So with a stock car I’m guessing we will see an oval track as upcoming DLC - Daytona or Sunset Peninsula.

Fingers crossed it’s free like Road America was!

It is referring to the redeemable Camaro ZL1 from the Doritos and Mountain Dew Every 2 Minutes contest. If you had 1000 points, you could redeem them and within a day or two you got an email with the code to download and buy and use in FM5. The car is the exact same as the normal, stock ZL1, with the exception of the custom design which has most likely been replicated. Your best bet to find one of these codes now is eBay, as the contest ended a few months ago.

Damn, I wanted to see Daytona DLC!

I’d really hate to see DLC wasted on Daytona. Oval racing isn’t the top form of motorsport in the world, and most of the world’s racing series are road racing series, so it’s not as though there’s massive global demand for ovals. Technically, Daytona is a roval, having a road in the infield, but rovals are such lousy road courses. If they would invest resources in new track content, I’d want it to go to a proper race course.

Are you kidding me. We have one oval!!! There is nothing like an endurance oval race, and the pit strategy involved.

You act as if oval racing isn’t popular… Well it is. We need more ovals and some stock cars, preferably gen 6.

And Indy GP (“roval”)never gets skipped in a lobby, just saying.

Daytona is perfect for Forza, I already mentioned this in the track wish list.

Just because something is popular doesn’t necessarily mean it’s good. Nascar is boring, plain and simple. One oval is more than enough. Maybe you don’t skip it, but I groan when it comes up. I only stay in either because I like the group I’m in, or don’t want to find another lobby.

You forgot “in my opinion.”

I think f1 is boring… No passing just run laps. Blah blah. No excitement. I bet a proper nascar race on an oval with competitive players would change your mind.

It was implied. I don’t pretend to speak for anyone else. I didn’t mention F1, but I agree last season was boring, with Vettel winning all the time. Hopefully this season will be better given the changes they’ve made. Personally, I prefer MotoGP and WSBK or some V8 Supercars. I just don’t see the need for another oval, as there are plenty of other tracks I’d rather see first:)

NASCAR needs to be added to Forza 5 in general, no idea why the heck they left the two stock cars from 4 out of this one and added the other racing league cars (F1, Indy, V8) considering the amount of people racing in NASCAR leagues on FM4, and the simple fact they are an American developer. It’s a slap in the face to leave out one of the largest racing organizations on the planet when adding the rest of them to the game.

TORA will be hosting a TASCAR Series in May on the 360. Complete information, builds, calendar, discussion is available on their website.

Yeah the Camaro was a limited code from the Mountain Dew contest.

The stock cars and other things in the multiplayer list really don’t mean anything. They are just the basic features that were brought over from past Forza’s. This game is built off of a template essentially. There were lots of car body options in FM4 that never got cars to justify those classes. I think they are just there just in case Turn 10 does eventually add cars in that category.

Here’s a FM.net thread listing the cars in the game, including the Mt. Dew Camaro:

I have a spreadsheet of car performance numbers at my website ManteoMax.com that may be helpful.

I have the car and it is really good looking. I’d say it’s worth finding a spare code if one exists. I think there were only a few thousand available.

i think daytona has an exclusive license already with someone else. but they could put in talledega or even sunset.

@Manteo - Would the Mountain Dew DLC codes work out of the USA?

The codes work outside USA mate.

I got mine from eBay and it works fine here in the UK. Very nice livery to have in the garage.

Dude I wish you had never posted this…now I must find a code when I get off work. I love collecting rare awesome cars.

I have the mountain dew camaro! The paint job is nice! I collected so many mountain dew caps from my work I collected about 500. That’s how I got my xbox one and Forza 5  for free too lol. It was a lot of walking for those caps. About 5 miles a night
