An apology and made up tracks discussion!

Fictional city tracks I generally have no problem with because at least they actually feel like you’re driving down the city streets (New York and Tokyo from the old-skool FMs, Prague is pretty good too although I’m not too fond of Rio) and there are plenty of real-life street circuits. In contrast, the fictional “country” tracks like Bernese Alps feel nothing like real roads and more like a 4-lane highway loop that has scenery painted around it. If I want to drive in the mountains, I want tight switchbacks, engaging twisties, blasting through quaint little villages, bumpy roads and stone walls, intersections, little bridges over little creeks - basically old-skool Formula 1 tracks like Charade, Spa, Nurburgring Sudschleife, Rouen etc where it feels like someone has gone and closed off real roads for racing.

Or maybe I just really hate Bernese Alps…

Prague and Rio have a nice flow to them. Alps is also Great.

I have mixed feelings about Dubai. I like the flowing corners but I really hate those slow series of corners going up the hill. Every bit of throttle is basically too much there.
I hate it that much that I rarely choose that track to play on.

I miss the Alpine Ring of FM1 and also the Rio Track of FM1. . That was a nice citytrack.

I hate Rio. Dubai has good bits and bad bits. Maple valley is good but I miss the bump on the last straight. Prague is one of my favorites.

Dubai has really grown on me. It’s become one of the tracks I use when I feel like doing some hot laps. The hotel section on with side of it, going in either direction is a lot of fun. So is the portion around the tunnel.

I like Rio but I’ve become bored with it. Prague is good. I hate the Alps, super boring.

Fictional tracks give racing games so much more life honestly. If it weren’t for tracks like High Speed Ring, Trial Mountain, Deep Forest, Grand Valley, Midfield, etc, it would be pretty much nothing but Laguna Seca and a handful of others that would’ve defined my childhood racing experience.

For Forza, Maple Valley has always been great, Sunset Peninsula. Taking out fan favorite tracks like Motegi & Tsukuba didn’t help either.
