All pre-order cars have been blacklisted from being sold in the auction house

Greetings fellow Forzalanders,

Hope all of you are steering clear of the corona-virus.

I came across a strange revelation about the game, and just wanted to get you all’s thoughts on it.

As of a couple days ago, every PO car in the game can no longer be put up for sale in the auction house.

I do not like this decision, as it limits freedom in the game even more than it already has been.

I’m just here to see what you guys think.

Is this good or bad in your opinion?

Hope you guys have a good one.

-Robert

How do you know this, did you try listing one such as the Porsche and found you couldn’t? Or did they make an announcement to this effect.

Right exactly.

I was selling several different ones to my friends on Wednesday, and now I can’t sell any PO car in the game.

And how did you manage to get several of the different ones? Which ones were they?

The game doesn’t allow the selling of a handful of the POs at all. I know I got an Aston PO at the beginning of the game through the AH. But the other one, sans the McLaren because I got it with the game, I had to obtain through giveaways.

I recently obtained the Camaro PO in the auction house. I have all the PO cars either through the AH or gifted by PGG.

You could buy DB11, Porsche, and Camaro PO’s since intro. I popped DB11 the other day to try something, and went to offload it yesterday, maybe today I forget. No go.

Wonder why they did this, their doesn’t seem to be a logical answer. But glad I just picked up an extra Camaro and 2 extra 720s and 2 extra Porsche’ this past weekend.

Usually their are a ton of DB11 PO in AH but none today.

As an aside, 812’s appearing for bigger money now. FE Capris still 250 max.

I was waiting to sell my extra for 20mil but didn’t think it would go up in such a short time span. Months of it being 700,000-900,000 Cr, sold it a few weeks ago for 11mil. I could sell my other one for 20mil now. I definitely misread the market.

Saw this about a week ago and got rid of my spare for 20mil after a long time waiting.

They are/were PRE ORDER cars
they should always have ONLY been available for preordering other wise it defeats the whole purpose of offering them as preorder cars
be happy they were available for the first 18 months of this game when they should never have been

Seems an odd change. They gifted the Nissan and Mercedes to everyone, the Porsche is a prize in the Eliminator and at least two of the other PO cars to my recollection have been available in the Forzathon shop. If people want to sell them, why prevent it? If anything, I’d have expected them to lift the restriction on selling the Focus, Nissan and Merc PO cars, rather than extend it to all of them.

Some cars removed from Eliminator, some cars no longer available for sell/buy, Eliminator being their sole point of interest. Hmm, I would say we are heading to PO cars being rewards for some feature related to Eliminator in a attempt to push/force people playing it.

Could as well just be a way to cut some blackmarket and save some kids from permanent ban day 1 they got offered both xbox and FH4 …

If they do, I hope they fix the bug where wheelspins after Eliminator don’t always allow you to reject duplicate cars. It’s just not worth playing Eliminator with the garage management grief it causes.

Glad I own them all! lol

The officially released PO cars have always been able to be sold in the AH, but, since our game is now mixed with the PC folks, who like tinkering with it way too much, there’s plenty of PO cars in the AH with no pedigree (in other words, hacked in). Mercedes and Nissan are not able to be auctioned, which I find puzzling since the Camaro and Focus are, even though the Focus was unfinished when it was first released.

I even chuckled when I saw some people say they wanted the Focus to stay broken, just “for the lulz”. Gladly, PG ignored them, because the biggest problem with this game is precisely the stuff that got put in it “for the lulz”.

If the PO cars are indeed blocked from auction, I don’t understand why they did it. Eliminator is probably gonna go the way of Bleeding Edge, which is expected since what the kids really want is to race/tandem drift around the map, not play cat and mouse inside a colorful ring.

What did they fix, my body kit still looks like poo …

PS
I’m glad I got all PO/FE when it was possible.

PPS
Why Lego cars have also lock on them, you can’t even bin them in garage? I would gladly get rid of few extras, I got from auction house.

Then there’s the Lego car thing. Why did they ban them? And the latest 3 PO’s were unannounced kills mid series.
Cougars still <200k, Capri FE, LFA similar, but 812 manipulated?

Just received an answer from frorza support about PO cars in auction house:
"Hello,

The pre order cars have been blacklisted from the auction house because they are for players that preordered the game.

Thanks,

Forza Support Team"

I wouldnt believe anything the support team has to say.
I wouldnt even be surprised if the majority of the most common complaints have automated replies. Even when theyre in the wrong it seems like youre talking to a soulless computer.

Being said, they wouldnt have gifted them to the whole player base letalone have them available in the auction house for the first 18 months of the game if the above mentioned was a fact. They most probably got in trouble with the companies whom originally released them as pre order content. Because not so long ago the DB11 PO was more common than a crown vic.

This is a poor response as it fails to take into account that every PO car, bar the McClaren I think(?), has now been made available to all at some point. They are no longer cars that are just for those who pre-ordered the game.

Seems to me that there are two real possible reasons for applying a ban now. The first is that some people have been accidentally selling PO cars and then complaining about it - so essentially the ban is to protect people from their own errors. The second is that they’ve noticed an increase in PO sales this year but probably not realised it’s because a lot more have been made available, rather than some dodgy dealings! I doubt you will get a sensible answer out of Support on this issue though!
