Cars are massively improved in handling and consistency when racing handling parts are available. Before then, the player is stuck with a car that is sometimes very difficult to drive consistently fast while the AI benefits from planted cars from the outset. It is a clearly unfair advantage that sometimes requires the difficulty to be dropped below the player’s actual skill level to even get a podium.
It also makes narrative sense in the Builders Cup for the AI to “build up” at the same rate as the player.
I noticed this as well. The ai’s cars are rated at a similar class and my car, but they are obviously running parts like aero, wide body kits, and even race tires from the start. Maybe Im imagining it but they always swing around corners faster than I can. I dont think is a skill issue lol, the ai cars seem to have better traction from parts that aren’t available to me yet.
I also noticed that what usually happens is my car is faster then the ai’s in a straight, because my car’s upgraded with engine upgrades that were available to me, while theirs is upgraded with a wing that’s causing drag.
Come to think of it, maybe thats why some of the wide body cars are messed up. The have the wide body kit installed but they wheels are in the original place to remove the advantage that they would be getting. Idk maybe they are being nurfed but the cosmetic is still there, something’s definitely up though
It’s become frustratingly egregious in the A Class Series this month with a Chevy Camaro '17 with fat race tyres and aero gapping me 3s per lap at Laguna Seca on my usual difficulty.

Yes please. Some spec Toyota 86/ Porsche races would be awesome!
