Note: The posting refers purely to the multiplayer, there are not enough races in the campaign to keep me entertained and I don’t want to replay the same races 10 times as it was necessary to get the progress saved in the first place.
Maybe it’s just me, but my understanding of “having fixed something” seems to be fundamentally different from that of the developers.
Since the 3.0 update, I’ve missed almost every occurrence of dirty air, the distance at which you follow a vehicle or the type of vehicle makes no difference, you get through corners with ease and without significant change.
The slipstream/draft is (imo too) strong as before.
Aerowash, however, now seems to occur completely randomly and incoherently, again completely independent of track, track condition, vehicle type, tires, setup and so on.
It’s almost like “If someone is less than two seconds behind, we’ll just randomly sprinkle the effect in between to make it a bit more exciting.
Whether that’s two seconds on a straight or two seconds through a combination of corners, at 20 or 200 m/h, wet or dry, let’s have some fun.”
Or is the interaction between your tire simulation and air simulation in your engine simply unreliable?
Or it’s exactly as intended.
I hope not.
It’s not gamebreaking and it won’t stop me from playing, the multiplayer is actually a lot of fun most of the time.
But one thing it certainly is … bloody annoying.
Maybe there will be an opportunity to take another look at it and at least make it understandable and predictable so that the player can adjust to it.
Cheers and thnx.
