I would really like to have final drive tuning on electric cars in Motorsport similar as to in FH5. This could be either through a transmission upgrade (similar to FH5 which also had multi-speed transmission options) or just enable that final drive tuning on the stock transmission.
TLDR: electric cars are completely out classed as is, and I don’t see a down side in terms of balance to allow final drive tuning without a PI tweak. (more detailed comparison below)
As it is right now, cars like the Taycan and Xpeng seem fairly useless given their relatively high power output (752 and 424 hp) for their class (S and B) with very low gearing limited top speeds (about 170 and 120 mph). Admittedly haven’t tried comparing much for the hyper cars like Rimac’s but they are also gearing limited in some cases. I don’t expect that this would make these electric cars top tier or anything, but as a comparison below for equal PI and relatively similar cars, same power and PI, there’s realistically no situation where these cars are competitive, not even considering comparing to lighter cars in S class that can still get similar top speed but much better handling (e.g. 911 GT1).
Taycan benchmark and stats with stock tires and downforce
Panamera benchmark and stats with street tires and downforce, note much lower weight, equal power, similar acceleration, much higher top speed, and better handling and braking.
