Add a race timer for lap races so you can see how long the race goes for. Endurance races and more tracks like in the V8 supercars NASCAR Indycar and Mazda CX-5 specs racing.

Race timer.

@denniwiggles could you clarify what form you’d like to see this in? Is this a HUD request?

Yes it is.

One of the most frustrating aspects of Forza Motorsport is the lack of a race timer while competing. There is no way to get the game to show you the elapsed time of a given session while driving, be that during a timed qualifying session, a long race, or anything in private multiplayer.

Some of the most popular privately organized multiplayer Forza events are the TORA Endurance races, many of which have been directly streamed to the Forza twitch channel, and nearly all of which have seen 200+ drivers take part concurrently. We use the in-game elapsed timer to tell drivers when to stop and collect results, and as of now, have no way to tell how much is left or how much time has passed.

Forza Motorsport 7 showed this information quite nicely, with the “Race Time” always shown on the top right of the UI.

For timed sessions where the objective is to drive the most distance (like for TORA endurance), we could see both the remaining time (counting down) and the distance traveled (increasing) on the top right.

These 2 elements complement each other.

The phrase “less is more” does not work for this, the remaining and/or elapsed time is VITAL for competitive play. Having this UI element returned would enable leagues like TORA to nearly immediately return to hosting events where the elapsed time is critical to scoring or the function of the event.

This is the current UI for a lap based race:

Note how we have no idea how long into the race this is? Having the total elapsed time would be very helpful. The game still shows this information on the results screen, so we know it’s being tracked. Players need to see this!
