Accolades Double Time / 5 a Day / Marathon

I understand that progress gets reset on fast traveling… But also when changing cars?

If I’m going to lock myself into the same car for at least an hour, I’ll hop in my Bentley Blower./s

Like I said, I understand with the other accolades for driving from A to B in under X mins. Fast traveling would make them pointless.
This being said, for a challenge that requires you to be locked into the same car, and not fast traveling for at least 50 mins is annoying.

Should I submit a ticket and see is this can be fixed while I grind out the hundreds of other accolades?

Is there a work around? Or am I just going to have to hunker down in my FE Sesto and grind skill points between events?

I don’t know if it’s supposed to be that way but yes, don’t fast travel and stay in the same car. It wasn’t a big deal for me for the 10 arcade events in 5 hours.

Just hope you don’t get any disconnections either, that also resets the progress.

For Marathon, I picked an FD car (specifically the Corolla, because I’m a Toyota guy) since one of the Arcades is always a Drift, and even the dirt Drift zones are doable with an FD car. Also since they fixed Arcades so that completing Round 3 is easily achievable even with no other players, it became much easier, often being able to complete with ~5 minutes still remaining (except the odd occasional when one other person would join but not contribute, or when the drift zone was up to the caldera).

As for how long it took, I just picked a weekend when the missus wasn’t home, did it in the middle of the day when connection drop-outs seem rarer (also helps that being in a different time-zone to the US that servers would always be quiet, so 1-person Arcades were pretty much guaranteed which if anything are easier than 2- or 3-), and if I couldn’t make it to a new Arcade in time or needed a break it was no sweat as long as I stayed connected and didn’t fast travel, you can still smash it out well within the time limit even if you skip multiple Arcades (or can’t complete one due to selfish moochers)

I used a fast car and did no drift events.

Single sitting, same car, no fast travel works.

I did actually try one non-Drift event in the middle of my Marathon (as I figured I could kill a couple more Accolade birds with one session) but trying to do an Air or Wreckage event with an FD Corolla was not fun, dirt roads are bearable but offroad (which is the key part of Air and Wreckage rounds) was a nightmare.

It’s already on the known issue list:

Yeah, I figured this was the case, thank you all for you’re responses.

Also didn’t think I’d get any, let alone this many in 2 days haha

I gotta tell you. My friend and I have had a freaking DAY trying to get this. We only figured out you couldn’t fast travel on our 4th arcade event. Then only after switching cars after driving across the map to the next event, noticed you also couldn’t change cars. Forza is really great with allowing you to track accolades and your current status but damn… the lack of explanation/what you can and can’t do is ridiculous. How hard is it to put “(cannot fast travel or swap cars)”. Gonna have to shoot for this another day though. My friend is continuously hit with the game not saving and throwing errors. He became stuck in our last Arcade event for the 2nd time. Finally had enough and left.

This one actually doesn’t take long if you do the Drift Arcade events. Usually you can complete round 3 in a matter of 5/6 minutes per Arcade event, therefore giving you about 9/10 minutes to drive to the next Drift Arcade event. The 10 in 5 hours took me a little over a couple of hours, however, I also netted a hefty amount of Forzathon Points and Mastery Points.

Best way to know if you are doing the accolade correctly is to Pinpoint it. That way you have a visual representation on your screen the whole time giving you clues as to the guidelines.

Somehow qualifies changing cars as fast travel or am I wrong? At least the car fast travels to the player. So for me it would be only natural not to change the car when fast travel is not allowed.

Of course it would have been nicer by the devs if they pointed that out at the accolade description.

Another piece of advice is to avoid any events starting on the highway, runways, or other high-traffic area online. Nothing worse than a random driving through after event start and upping your requirements for something like skill counts or mini missions.

I was working on this over the weekend, and it seems that going into the menu (you know, to look at the map to see where the next event is) resets the timer. One time I tried it, I ended the first close enough to the next that the circle was on the min map so I just drove there, but the timer reset once the new event started with 9 minutes left on the timer.

I think that’s a new one, at least I haven’t heard it before. Makes it almost impossible to complete. I guess you should open a ticket and report it.
