The 2016 Hoonigan Gymkhana 10 Ford Focus RS RX has racing slicks by default. You cannot change them. All these cars listed should have off-road racing tires (rally tires) but do not and you cannot change them. Is this going to be fixed?
** I’m pretty sure my '78 Hoonigan Escort does have snow tires currently per the little icon in the car selection screen, but I don’t remember what it actually shows when you go in to modify the car.
It might be that the compound of the stock tires in these cars is good enough to grip on snow. I have driven the Honda and the Volkswagen on snow conditions and their handling was not bad. Or, as suggested, it might be a development issue.
Honestly I think they forgot to give them off road tires which is obviously an issue. The Renault 5 Turbo FE doesn’t have off-road tires which considering it was one of the most famous group B cars is very odd.
Thanks for letting me know. I’m pretty sure that wasn’t an option when I made this post. Perhaps they have added it in the update but just haven’t told us. Makes me wonder if they have done the same with the other rally cars.
Rally Tires ARE snow tires.
Had they focused onthe driving aspect of the game they would have seen the problem this was going to cause.
I’ve offered suggestions to clear up the confusion, but some moderator refuses to allow them to be posted.
I can clear this up. Some cars automatically have rally compound tires, like some offroad vehicles already have offroad racing tires. Forza Edition cars usually come with the best compound by default, as with the Forza Edition Peugeot 205 Turbo. It already has rally tires by default. It’s easy to check for rally tires on a car, due to the unique tread type they have. Check a car that has rally tires already if you don’t know what the rally tire treads look like. Now to the slightly unsure part. I don’t know if the tires automatically change to snow tires in the winter if they are rally by default. I haven’t looked into that yet.
A lot of people are getting confused with what I mean so I’ll edit my first post to be more clearer. I know cars that have off-road racing tire (dirt tires, rally tires etc) automatically change to snow tires during the winter. What I am saying is that a number of supposedly rally cars don’t have off-road tires and there is no option to change them. The best example is the Hoonigan Focus’s. The Gymkhana 9 has rally tires (you can see the difference in the tread) the Gymkhana 10 does not and has no option to change it. That’s what I’m trying to highlight. The Peugeot 205 FE doesn’t have rally tires by default but you do have the option to change them (something I am sure wasn’t available when I made this thread) because of this I will update the list but the newest Hoonigan rally car also doesn’t have rally tires. I am wondering why and is this simply a dev oversight. Another user has a thread asking why rally cars are so useless well I suspect this may be the reason why.
Ok that makes more sense. I expected the prebuilt rally cars to all have rally tires. I can understand the Hoonigan cars though. They aren’t really normal rally cars. They’re mostly built for sliding around other cars and doing burnouts. If there are cars made to rally but they don’t actually have rally tires, then I guess it’s just the devs.
I know for sure the Renault 5 FE does have rally tire upgrade, which also happens to have Forza lettering on it. The stock build is with Race tires for tarmac.
Yeah I might do but if you have used the support service you’ll now it takes weeks for a reply because they are getting swamped with tickets about bugs. The best way to get this fixed is to highlight the issue. The more people who are aware of it the better.
