I think that update is very promising. It will take a while I imagine, but at least it’s been acknowledged.

I think the future is bright.

So nice at last to get a response. That itself means more than any update. Please make this game what you promised us. There is a really good game in there once things are sorted. Thank you for the reply it gives us a bit more hope.

You knew all of these things when you sold the game to us.

Simply not good enough.

You treated your core fans like trash and there is zero accountability so far. The way you’ve worded this as though its all new feedback to T10 is a disgrace.

Thank you for the update!

My suggestion for the car levelling system:

Change it to a manufacturer level system similar to FM4’s so players can use multiple cars to level the manufacturer and earn upgrades, discounts or both. That way it will become a LOT less grindy and it will motivate players to try cars from different manufacturers and also try different cars of those manufacturers. I think it will be a lot more fun that way.

And add content to the SP Career!

It’s nice to finally get some sort of update, but nothing is said, really…
Game has diverse technical issues and also core game systems like A.I., FRR, CaRpg are mostly nonsensical…

And there’s no mention of content…

I have already finished all that game offers in “Career” mode… Have no interest in Freeplay, Rivals are impossible with CaRpg, Multiplayer is unstable and when it works for more than one race it’s just Festival of Ramming…

I fear the game will die before any of “useful” changes are made…

Since Turn10 is the slowest company in the world, these fixes gonna take at least half a year.

The remaining 37 players will enjoy them for sure.

Yes yes yes!! This is the kind of communication we’ve been asking for Turn10, thank you for the update. This is a great step forward in feedback between the team and community, so happy to hear what’s being focused on!

Sounds like after working on this series for more than 18 years,
working on this installment for the past few years,
& working on post-launch support for the past few months,
they’re still months away from beginning to deploy meaningful improvements.

“…we will commit to publishing quarterly updates…”

Quarterly” seems quite slow considering the game was publicized as a “triple-A racing platform for the future” with a new “more agile codebase” that makes it “very easy” to “very quickly change how you interact with the game.”

After listing core gameplay systems in dire need of major improvements (progression, AI, & race regulations),
saying “it will take some time… over the next few months,”
& saying we’ll get informational updates “quarterly,”
it sounds like players are stuck in the dark with these problematic systems until at least next quarter (April 2024).

…This all makes the October 2023 retail launch seem like a premature early access beta.

“…we appreciate your patience…”

I don’t feel like you do.
This studio has been working on this series long enough to do much better than this.
It seems like if our patience was appreciated, it would be rewarded more instead of taken for granted so much.

Honestly, I’m just glad to hear that they’re going to address the car progression system. As for what changes they’ll make to it, we’ll have to wait and see, but hopefully the amount of time needed to upgrade a car is measured in minutes, not hours. I can live for now with a relatively small multiplayer selection, sometimes questionable FRR penalties, and okayish AI, but the upgrade system as it is now is what needs to be addressed the most IMO.

Looking forward to future updates :+1: Quarterly developer updates are a step in the right direction

If VIP gets x2 credits, then simply add x2 or higher for unlocks. Also, remove it per car and apply to manufacturer level. No one with duplicates should have to redo all that.

Creative failed hard on this, sorry Chris. Maybe you should realize that this is just a video game and there is no “bonding” on digital assets. This was implemented to delay everyone from building their cars how they want, when they want. Isn’t that the ethos of Forza?

Features tours should end up on SP career mode when the time expires. No excuse for FOMO events.

Also let’s get some normal cars for DLC and fix the 100 or so embarrassing not “built from the ground up” cars from older FM games. How could this game be the flagship title to show off the Series X? We know Pixel Mafia is handling car modeling, siphon off a small part of the team to work solely on that and then release.

Fix everything that Digital Foundry pointed out, from the weird non-HD textures and other bugs.

Offer new lighting and night time for the garage. The current garage does not make anything look good at all, looks washed out. Turn off RT as well, it slows down and is probably the reason entering a car fades to black now.

Add completed Featured Tours posters to the wall, get some small customization in there. Different helmets/suits featured, accolades, even new garage spaces. Go back into every FM title and add all non-licensed Turn 10 music to background. I would love to hear the FM5 angelic theme pop on out of nowhere. Make a small playlist available so we can choose. Add other public domain tunes.

Where’s the creativity and imagination here?

Dead, game will be dead before all of this is revised. More dead than it already is. It’s also not fair to people like @Jezza14 who have a ton of cars leveled to 50 already. I’m glad some people see through t10’s marketing charm. They still haven’t apologized, and it sounds like Car PG is going to be revised instead of removed. I think the damage is done and it’s too late to repair it. No apologies, and who knows how many cars will reach level 50 for the people who regularly play before the revisions come out.

This is a mess that could’ve been avoided if they’d just listen, and not change something that hasn’t been complained about in all of Forza. The classic grind for credits to buy parts was never an issue in any simcade.

I guess they’ll be at the mercy of those who put in the time if they get rid of it. Judging by their refusal to admit it’s a total failure tells me they’re not getting rid of it. Feels like a lose lose unless people who put the time in forgive them.

“…our top priorities in early 2024 are addressing overly aggressive AI, while also getting a cleaner race start into turn 1 where many of the issues above most severely manifest and impact players.”

Um… what? T1 is pretty clean most of the time compared to FM7. Almost every race I’ve had at Nurburgring has been clean through T1 and others are pretty good too. It’s not until 1/2 to 3/4 of the way through the first lap that it all comes undone. If anything they’re too cautious and slow. There are exceptions but generally the start of the race isn’t the problem.

Paraphrasing myself elsewhere…

When the VIP fiasco in FM7 happened, it didn’t take very long for Alan Hartman, then head of studio, to issue a statement, and for the studio to provide a fix. Fast forward to 2024 and it took T10 3 months to issue a statement saying that they’ll work on a fix for a myriad of issues but it may take months for the fixes to be implemented into the game. Saving it for the Nordschleife update, maybe?

Even the tone is almost condescending. “We understand people hate our CarXP system, but, you know, there are players out there who really liked it, and we need to balance their preferences”. As far as I’m concerned, the CarXP system was universally disliked, but T10 makes it seem it’s we who are at fault for disliking it, not them for dropping the ball. They refuse to admit they screwed up and won’t yield.

And this is without mentioning they completely ignored the graphics/stability/detail issues in the game, which are numerous.

This situation reminds me of what happened with Diablo IV. The Diablo devs, who are now Microsoft devs as well, and were being managed by then ex-Microsoft executives (Fergusson and Ybarra), were so full of themselves with regard to the game’s initial sales’ success that they often mocked the community for their complaints. Then they issued the game’s first major patch, it was so bad it exploded on their faces, and it’s become a popular sport to hate on the game, all while Blizzard is still trying to regain even a fraction of the playerbase they lost with their hubris and lack of awareness. If FM had suffered the type of backlash Diablo did, Esaki and co. would never act so coldly towards their userbase.

Let some higher power protect anything Microsoft purchases, because, holy crap, they’re so bad at community management, it hurts to watch. Halo, Gears, Forza, now Diablo, even Arkane released their worst game under the magic thumb of Phil Spencer.

To paraphrase the famous quote that is so often attributed to Winston Churchill that it’s become a meme, Turn 10 will eventually do the right thing…after it has exhausted every other option first.

I suspect that Turn 10 didn’t want to be in this position and was content with stringing people along from Forza Monthly to Forza Monthly until they got approval to move on and start running their next play. But given the collapsing sales, poor numbers, and general sentiment…I bet shots have been fired, and it’s probably been going to pot since just before the holidays. Microsoft has probably been tearing into Phil Spencer, and we all know stuff rolls downhill.

CXP

5 cars fully unlocked using CXP as it is novel to begin with.

Once 5 done, credits to unlock every other car.

Once a car is fully unlocked, duplicates should also be unlocked.

Why couldn’t Chris Esaki himself issue a statement or even better an appology. I’d love to see him take questions on the next Forza livestream.
Now I’ve had time to digest things it seems a fob off to provide quarterly updates. We need weekly updates.
From what I’ve read it’s going to take a long time. They’ve no idea what to do. FM should have had at least another year of development and polish.

I don’t use the upgrade system or the penalty system in this game, what affects me the most is the AI and how they drive (or not) around the track. if they can get them in check and make the races more fair i would be playing this game a lot more than i am now.
