Hi everyone. I’m new to the forum and online racing. Looking for some help on a well rounded tune for the crx in A class. I’m sure there are better cars for it but I like the challenge and think it hilarious flying by and keeping up with some of the more well known A class cars in a crx. Stock motor, NA, race tires, suspension, trans, diff and everything else to hit 700. There isn’t much for tunes by the community in game game A class… any tips for a good foundation I can tweak as I play more would be helpful.
I’ve shared an A class tune for the Mugen called „Lobby“.
But you won’t have much luck with it in lobbies, it’s too underpowered when leaving it stock engine NA.
Really? it spins the tires a lot very easily in 2nd and 3rd and passes like 80% of cars ive raced on my own tune attempts. its cornering needs work and understeers a lot.
Well the build itself doesn’t leave much headroom to play with. I’ve tried higher power builds with Oil and Cooling and experimented with different rims but ultimately this is the best build from my testing. It’s not perfect since it would need biggest rear rims for best handling, but this would lower handling to 5.8 with a PI of 798 which is slower than the version I shared. Again due to restrictions to stock engine and NA, otherwise better builds would be possible.
As for the tune I managed a high 1.33 on Laguna Seca which is my go to test track and usually pretty representative of what you can expect in lobbies. For reference my fastest A class cars (Alfa 33S, Porsche Leichtbau, Mustang 00) will do low/mid 1.31 (the Alfa can actually put 1.30s) which makes the Mugen around 2-3 seconds slower. And Laguna Seca is more on the grip side. Expect an even higher gap on more speed oriented tracks.
No matter how good the tune is, it won’t make the car go 2 seconds faster. To be really competitive in A class with a handling that hovers around the 6.0 mark you need a combined speed/accel rating of around 15 (+/- 0.5 depending on handling). The Mugen sits at 13.9 which is simply too low for its handling and the testing shows.
