You take up that flag so I dont have to!
I understand that OLED TVs only go to Aprox 800-1000 nits of brightness where the Samsung Q9F is 1800-2000 nits of brightness and does not sacrifice color fade from the brightness.
That extra brightness I would think will make the HDR really pop on this TV…am I wrong???
My theory was for contrast I know I give up a % or 2 from perfect dark of the OLED but my ceiling brightness about doubles with QLED and I would think the farther you can get dark and bright apart the more the contrast between the 2
What more should I know?
Thanks for any replies.
I won’t actually have 4K for this game… not immediately anyway.
My graphics card on my PC won’t handle 4K with this game.
My Xbox One is the OG… so I’m going to flip a coin on which way I go to do the 4K stuff. Right now I am leaning towards Xbox One X, since I know I have people I will play the game with on there. I will barely have any people on PC, but I plan on buying it Digital, so when I do upgrade my Computer GPU, I can throw down there too.
For now I am just getting what the Xbox spits out, upscaled to 4k… and I gotta say, after playing FM6 all day, FM7 looks like it is going knock my socks off in 4K Native… it already looks amazing in 1080p.
Now if we could just get that Porsche to stop switching between Understeer and Oversteer, I could figure out if I like the way the cars handle… as of right now, I do not like it.

Fair enough and I do agree with the amazing looks in just 1080p Xbox One X already pre ordered but after tonight I may have to do some more research on my potential 4K TV purchase before I am full 4K.
It will happen though…soon!
The porsche tends to light up and unload the rear tyres super super easy. I have no TCS on btw.
I would go back in a second. I will take performance in gaming over “oooo pretty colors”. I would rather a high refresh rate and low lag than more pixels, especially when very few things a native 4k.
I still remember playing the 360 for the first time in 1080p… it was mind numbingly amazing.
The jump from 480p (I bought one of those TVs) to 1080p was crazy.
The jump from 1080p to 4k, is not. from 720p to 4k… definitely a huge jump, but it will likely never be that kind of a jump again.
To be honest 8k is not going to be a consumer product. It will more than likely end up just being for displays in stores, and similar places where you can replace a wall with a TV screen.
The content for 8K is going to be mostly Slide show stuff. Going above 4K creates the need for expensive hardware to provide content, and the storage options for 8K simply won’t be affordable.
Bandwidth to watch a 2 hour movie in 8K will likely exceed most peoples cap.
Using it as a Windshield in a car, I see that happening… Playing Elder Scrolls: Fantomisle in 2027 in 8K doesn’t seem likely. (Fantomisle is a fake game i made up from tangibility reasons)

Tons of people said this about 1080P and then about 4K. Look back at this in 5 plus years you’ll be surprised.
Right now, playing at 1080P on the XB1 is fine. I would rather have a more improved game at the 1080p level than 4k resolutions, for the sake of 4k resolution. I am willing to meet at a middle ground of 1440p, but still having the game run at a minimum of 60pfs while having ultra settings. But 4k? Eh.

I’d like an improved game as well. But at 4K please. Sure the hardware requirements are pretty ridiculous to hit 4K. But when you see it running it is sublime. I have about as expensive a gaming PC as you can build and the 4K runs terrific unless the dynamic weather kicks in. When the track starts raining, I have significant frame drops, especially in heavy turning corners where it has to update the background quickly. And we’re talking about with an overclocked current gen i7 near 5 gigahertz. And a 1080ti, as well as striped solid state drives. So I’m pushing the envelope and it can’t keep up. I’m hoping we get some optimization updates, otherwise I’ll have to go to custom settings and turn a few things down. I tried to play it at 1440p and 1080p to see if the frame drop would go away, but now that I’ve played in 4k I can’t go back. For informational purposes I play on a 60-inch set and my head is less than 5 feet from the display. If you’re on a smaller set or eight-plus feet back there won’t be much of a visual difference between 1080P and 4K. For me it’s definitely there.
