If we download Forza 7 in the standard Xbox One does the download include the 4k assets but not actually use them?
I ask this because I’d like to get the digital ultimate edition like I have on previous titles. So if I get in on the standard Xbox One and then transfer my external hard drive onto the Xbox one X when I buy it, will the game be ready for use straight away? Or will we have to download an update on the Xbox one X or even do a full redownload?
I don’t know how much or if it will affect us as existing Xbox One owners but Microsoft support told me that the original Xbox One and Xbox One S do not use or copy over the 4K assets. If this is true, I would expect that you would have to update when going to the Xbox One X. How much of an update is not yet clear. We don’t know what proportion of the total install size on Xbox One X consists of 4K assets and any guesses at this point are pure speculation and not worth much.

Why do i have to download 4K textures and other languages if im never ever gonna use these features? I dont want to download 4K textures , languages beside english. Game should be way smaller on PC not 100 GB.
I want option for modular download.
This kind of thing is on its way. But it’s its infancy. We probably won’t see it in full effect for another year or so. Check this link, it’s called intelligent delivery. And it will save a lot of install size in the future.
Are “4k” high resolution textures in PC game or are we need to wait for November 7 update?

I’m not sure since they need to update the game on november 7 it sounds that HQ assets are not finished yet?
My guess would be that it’s fully complete but depending on the version of XBox you’re downloading to you will require a further update when playing on the 1X for the first time. I think this will be XBox specific and won’t affect PC users.
I really want to know if high quality PC textures will be on release?
If you play on PC and have the hardware to run at 4K you will be full on with the high-res textures for everything on release date. November 7 update is specifically for Xbox One X users.
Turn 10 has been working with 4K and high-res textures since Forza 6. This was information given by one of the Developers. That’s why I Forza 6 Apex and Horizon 3 are able to run at an actual rendered 4k on PC. These assets have been around for awhile. The only thing they have to do would probably clean some of them up and then add the new content.

(1) Are 4K assets a mandatory or optional download on PC? Not all PC gamers will want or have PCs that can handle 4K gameplay.
(2) What about the pre-release option to download One X enhancements before the One X release date to current XBoxes that was recently announced by the XBox dev team?
