Is there supposed to be a 20th anniversary livery for this week’s spotlight car? I can’t find it. The release notes and today’s in-game message reads like there’s supposed to be one.
Because apparently this makes sense to somebody. It’s like celebrating your birthday by waiting until it’s over, and opening your presents the following day.
Yes. Who wants to use the livery in the actual event anyway!?
In-game message:
“This Week in Forza Motorsport - May 8
Immerse yourself in a journey of Forza Motorsport’s historic cover cars in the Spirit of Motorsport Tour. Race the 2005 Honda NSX-R in its celebratory livery on iconic Forza tracks.”
“Spirit of Motorsport Tour” is in Career and not a Rival Celebration event. “Where Dreams are Driven” is the Rival celebration event and it only makes reference to the 50k CR in the challenge hub.
Bizarre
Yeah it’s nonsense.
Also where is all that “new” old music?
Edit: I think I just heard a new song, shortly before a race started, but it was only for a second or something then the race started. Something is really really wrong about that new music, in general it’s like my game only plays 3 songs or something. They need to fix that.
The whole thing seems half baked, it’s the Turn 10 way. I tried the first event to see if this anniversary mode was worth playing. I choose the NSX-R which I already own and has an S1 800 tune. It tells me the tune is too powerful. Okay, how about you sort it out for me then, no, I have to do it manually, either tune it myself or download a tune.
Then it’s just a pointless ‘race’ against the still stupid AI which brakes to a snail’s pace for every corner, and when you get to the front, the leader gives up and it and all the other cars get in a nice procession behind you while you drive as slow as you like, and they don’t even try and overtake. I treated it like a Sunday drive and just enjoyed the scenery, which is to the credit of those developers who worked on it. They got something right. The others didn’t. I won’t bother playing any more, there is nothing here worth playing.
Got the livery now in my inbox.
Haha! I was JUST gifted the livery! I didn’t do anything, it just appeared in the gift menu.
I just checked the messages, you are right it’s in my inbox too. Thanks for the info.
Edit: But it doesn’t fit the bodykit. So I keep the one I had on my car.
This is how the anniversary design looks like with bodykit.
That is the one I will keep for now.
It also looks like that on the standard NSX.
Must be broken surely?
Or this is the reason for the slight delay but then they decided to release it anyway.
I’ve done my own now. Loosely based on this one:
Seeing as I have about as much artistic talent as “a cluster of blind hedgehogs…in an bag” my liveries mainly consist of pre-made sticker placement. I do still enjoy trying though.
Someone on r/Forza made this FM1 cover car replica livery. I think it looks better than the Turn10 version although I haven’t checked it out with the body kit yet.
The livery that was given to us is puzzling to me. They talk about the Spirit of Motorsport, but the quality and execution of this livery shows indifference, lack of interest and involvement in the world of Forza Motorsport. In no case do I want to say anything bad about the creator of this livery, but this particular job is simply unacceptable. It would be better if they did not show it to us at all and did not give it to us, since the way it is made does not exalt the original FM2005, but on the contrary demonstrates disrespect and devalues the source of FMotorsport.
I absolutely do not care that this livery does not relevant well with the new body kit, since in the original FM2005 we had only a standard body and I do not mind that the livery would be created only for the standard body without taking into account the new body kit.
But unfortunately, it’s made and looks very bad for both car modifications.
The new suits are made and looks great! The new car pack is amazing ($5 is not a problem)! But the livery for the Honda NSX-R is a complete fiasco.
It almost seems like the designer was tired when they made the design. I would imagine T10 will reissue the design again fixed. Not the best look but hopefully corrected.
Yes, that’s why I said that in no case do I want to say anything bad about the creator of this design, since I know his other works and they are definitely good.
It also seemed to me that he was just given 2 minutes to complete the work. And if that’s the case, then he definitely did well for 2 minutes, but it’s not something we could use with pleasure.
Thanks for showing what it looks like with the bodykit, because the game still doesn’t let you see the changes made when you apply parts.
As Lightsider74 said, it doesn’t fit the standard car either. The logos are well done, but the Toyo Tires ones don’t fit properly. The black stripes look a bit random. If I’d downloaded it off the Designs Store I’d delete it right away. No offence to the creator of it, but it’s not up to the standard of previous Forza reward or gifted liveries.
The livery popped up as a gift. I downloaded it. And… Where do I find it now?
You find it in “My Designs” after you selected the car.
I made my own version of the livery back in February of last year in FH5. It is much more faithful to how the car appears in Forza Motorsport 1.
Earlier today, I imported the livery to FM, fixed everything up as the decal grid for this car has shifted between FH5 and FM, and shared it.
Most of these screenshots are from FH5, but the last one shows how the livery looks in FM.
