11 Things Wrong With Forza Horizon 3

I totally agree with… 1/3/5/6/7/10/11

This game is missing quite a few cars that were featured in FH2, let alone other Forza’s (eg. Mercedes-Benz SLR Mclaren, Audi RS7, Jaguar XKR-S, Volkswagen Golf R, etc).

I’m also so sick of the Porsches… We get it Turn 10/Playground Games you like small sports cars, move on please.

I was also hoping that they would include quite a few more Holden’s & Fords (AU) since this is based in Australia but we barely have a handful.

I’m also so sick & tired of being told what to do by Anna… I know when I want to race, don’t force a waypoint when I’ve already completed the game.

And last of all the expansion DLC’s they had released were absolutely horrid. Blizzard Mountain? Seriously? You can tell they had spent approx 10-20 seconds on ideas & thought this will do… Then there was the Hot Wheels Expansion… If I wanted to drive around in an unrealistic environment I would play Saints Row or any Need For Speed games.

  1. Agreed, the drivatars behaviour is often infuriating and seems to have been programmed to cause maximum inconvenience to the player. If I were actually the boss of this Horizon festival then all of these idiots would have been deported. I have no problem with the traffic.

  2. Adjust your graphics settings or your display, either that or get your eyes checked as I’ve never had any issues seeing where I’m going in this game, regardless of day/night/conditions.

  3. I think there is a good level of off-road driving and with a great variety of off-road courses/events. In proportion there could be more road driving and there could certainly be more technical roads to actually warrant the handling biased PI system. So while I agree that proportionally it’s not quite balanced, it would be better to add to the road driving element then remove parts of the off-road experience.

  4. This point is unique to each player, I’m on PC and have had one crash in over 100 hours of play and 100% completion. So for me it’s actually among my most reliable games.

  5. This is more likely to do with you buying every iteration of Forza since FM2. The last Forza game I had was FM3 so for me, it was fresh and enjoyable enough to complete the game. If you’ve played every Forza game for the last x years, then I can understand how it might become boring, there is after all only so much they can do to change up a racing game.

  6. Doesn’t fit with the premise and annoyed me that it wasn’t something more in tune with the rest of the game. Having said that, it was more fun than expected and let’s be honest, the core game is horrifically unrealistic anyway… If it’s that awful for you then don’t buy it (and if you bought an expansion pass without knowing what was included then you can have no complaints).

  7. This is generally disappointing, agreed. Generally the upgrades system could use a bit of an update as it hasn’t really evolved all that much since FM1, it’s not a huge issue though.

  8. You’re right, this is an outrage, I’m going to start a worldwide petition to put right this affront to gaming, humanity and universal existence as a whole…

  9. More choice is always good and as with point 7, the system itself is due an overhaul. Not a game-breaking point at all though.

  10. Use the blueprints, although I will agree that when spamming the championships it did seem to rain a disproportionate amount of the time.

  11. That’s relative. I’ve spent £100 on a night out and all I’ve had to show for it is a hangover, a cold half eaten burger and some vomit to clean up in/around my toilet. By contrast FH3 is a bargain. It’s also a matter of patience, I bought the standard edition in the Thanksgiving sale, the car pass in a spring sale and the expansion pass with the XBL Gold sale, getting the discount using a 2 day XBL Gold trial. In total I paid just under £70 for everything and the only thing I’m missing is VIP, racing cars pack (which doesn’t fit Horizon anyway) and the Porsche pack.

Complaining about the car list is hilarious as well, it’s one of the best and most varied of any game ever released. Yes there are some notable omissions but what game doesn’t have them?

To many drivatars and they have a mind of their own??? That’s the whole freak’ point. Have you driven a car on the open road in real life? There are a lot of other cars and their drivers all think for themselves.

I must say, if I drove IRL like I do in Forza, I’d be dead already… hundreds of times!

I fully agree with these points. The drivatars need to be completely revamped and not have friends names on them unless they actually drive and run times like my real life friends (most of my friends that place aren’t anywhere capable of running leaderboard times even in leaderboard cars, yet this game makes them superstars… completely unrealistic). Too much focus on off-road, there is no reason the Goliath race should force you off road. This leads to the replayability, route editor would solve all these problems and would add years to the life cycle. The generic forza aero needs way more visual options (maybe a duckbill option, an added foil on the stock spoiler, and the current one).

I can agree their is way too much off roading!

70% of the time in online adventure it is off road racing. This is annoying when your trying to race hyper cars in a rally race. A lot of the S1 and S2 championships are off road.

A class should be offroad

S1 and S2 should be only street racing.

But… there are S1 off road cars in the game?

Rally tires give same PI boost as race tires, and they actually perform superbly offroad, I haven’t been able to determine whether they’re good enough to justify the PI boost but their grip on the dirt is unbelievable.

And yes, this means cars equipped with rally tires will often break into S1 and above.

Interesting thread. Okay, here we go:

  1. Yeap, it’s ridiculous. I just ignore them or drive around them even if I have to go off road. Really annoying, but it’s just how it is.

  2. Yea, again, ridiculous! It’s the lighting model of the game - I think its somewhat gimped. During the day, stuff appears brighter than it should. At night, things can look dimmer than they should even though brake lights appear super-saturated. Weird. On one hand, they’ve corrected headlight beam projection, on the other, they’re just dim. Would have looked perfect if they had done a copy/paste of the Forza 6 headlight bream projection model.

  3. Yeap, and the game forces you to do too much off-roading. I don’t like it either. I’m not sure if the next Horizon will finally be a true street and urban racing game but if it isn’t, then I’m not getting it. I’ve had about enough of the off-roading.

  4. Well, not here. Are you on PC? I’m on Xbox One and it almost never crashes. Maybe you have too many designs and photos saved. Maybe you haven’t cleared your cache in a while. Maybe you have a corrupt save on network related issues. Don’t know, just taking shots in the dark but it should not be crashing this much.

  5. Hmm, you could use the Blueprint feature to create custom races of your choice; I think its a fantastic feature and somewhat keeps the game fresh. You could also do Rivals or take part in online Adventures (racing only). Other than that, I’m out of ideas!

  6. Yeah, whatever. It’s not to my liking so I simply chose not to get it. Issue resolved!

  7. For this very reason, I almost never do engine swaps and just prefer to upgrade the stock engine to max. They all sound the same no matter what car you swap them into, so I don’t see the point, frankly.

  8. Yeah, bummer. We could do this in FM2 from what I remember.

  9. I think they would have to work on the physics a bit in order for spoilers to have a marked difference on performance. As it is, it’s all very generic. I long for depth in a Forza game, be it Motorsport or Horizon, but I’m pretty sure they are attempting to attract large pools of the NFS/TDU/DC crowd.

  10. I suppose it does and they want to show off the rain effects. I don’t know why the wipers work intermittently though. Shouldn’t they just be running continuously at normal speed?

  11. The only reason I picked up the Car Pass and VIP was because it was on sale. I personally feel they could better round off the roster with more desirable street and road cars, including exotics. Instead, we’re also starting to see wagons, jeeps and God knows what. I haven’t been too big a fan of DLC because of this very reason. And yes, the in-game currency is somewhat hard to get by, certainly not as generous as Forza 6, even if you upgrade to VIP. I guess you’ll have to play the game a LOT and not make any purchases for a while. I’m sure you’re already using the Upgrade Perk to perform free upgrades.

Honestly i love this game. Already beat the last showcase and am still addicted to it. Would be nice if there was a way to put the skill counter in the corner instead of right in the center of screen so i can still see it but not so distracting.
Also i love offroad the most because i like trucks but i guess 50/50 offroad/asphalt would be alright.
I do agree it is hard to see at night but i deal with it. And yes i have cussed out my game several times when i was hit by a drivatar while doing drift or speedzone. Especially when i was about to 3 star it.i

I havent got to the hot wheels expansion yet but yea i definitely would of preferred something different. Just any location that isnt on a toy track and is realistic but im gonna give it a try and most likely beat it.

The prices are a little high but i like the game so much that i will probably buy everything. Just bought tge blizzard mountain so i could use a couple of tge trucks while i am 100 percenting the original before i do the expansions.
I just wrote this because i felt this game deserved some praise since i do play it alot. It is tge best game i have played on my xboxone.
In the end the positives far outweigh the cons for me but yea those are my main problems with it.

Maybe no eon uses these forums because you guys don’t care about the community

Everytime someone uploads a good idea i see it get shot down by “Well no one else suggested it” or “Well it doesn’t affect me so we don’t care” what your really saying is “We don’t care if no money.”

Hey bud wake up, this isn’t a voting palette. No one cares how many other people suggested or agree with the idea. This is where ideas are born. If you look at the rest of the post a lot of other people agree.

This is how every forum mod is, lock if it is a good idea, lock if you cant make money, lock if it doesn’t relate to you. Don’t even let the poster respond. Just lock their post and either ban them for 12 days (Like i just did for no reason) and put account under monitorization.

Sorry your reply set me off as its a pethic excuse.

Agree on 1,3,5-9, & 11. IMO DLCs should consist of new cars that weren’t available @ release and not cars that were in previous games that were held back purposely to fill the DLC list (looking at you F50 GT).

There’s way too much offroading and i absolutely hate the opening segment/last segment of goliath.

T10/PG knew good and doggone well before they offered the expansion pass that they were going to roll out the Hotwheels garbage, they should’ve warned us but they knew it would be controversial and would probably hinder sales of the expansion pass.

Like my fellow moderators, I am a volunteer charged by Turn 10 and Playground Games with moderating these forums. To that end, our job as it were is to help keep the forums tidy and both civil and fair for all. Caring about the community is how and why we moderators were selected and asked to serve, with the notable exception of Dragnet who is a machine programmed to destroy.

No idea what you’re talking about here as I have never once seen either of those suggestions from one of us moderators or from Turn 10/Playground Games in my entire ten plus years here as a member and eight plus years as a moderator.

I don’t know who this ‘bud’ fellow is that you refer to but as I am here and typing I will venture to respond. That any number of people agree and disagree is precisely why I inquired about the possibility of wagering on the subject. There currently exists, has always existed and will always exist a not-insignificant number of players who all quite mistakenly believe they speak for the majority of players. They do not and this belief could not possibly be further from the truth.

What constitutes a good idea is subjective and we’ve got threads specifically for suggesting ideas good, bad or indifferent. They’re stickied right there at the top of the page where presumably one might not miss them. Perhaps it is a bit too optimistic to trust the entire forum body to use those threads as intended but we moderators are determined to insist upon it as it helps keep the forums tidy, which as you will no doubt recall is a fundamental requirement of our jobs as moderators.

Again, we moderators are volunteers so I have no idea how you think any suggestion made here on the forums is going to benefit us financially. As none of the posts or threads benefit us financially, were we to lock them for that reason, the entire forums would be locked. Likewise for posts or threads that do not relate to us personally as precious few of them might ever do so. I must confess I am not entirely sure how this argument of yours is structured, what your premises are and how your conclusions might stem from them.

As for bans, it is our policy to not discuss or allow them to be discussed on these forums. This is certainly not something you would wish to see waived in your particular case and made public. That said, no one has ever been banned on these forums for no reason. Best to leave this alone as it cannot possibly redound to your credit.

In the grand scheme of things, were this spelled correctly and employed proper grammar, this would be what we consider a poor choice of words if one wishes to continue on as a valued member of our community.

Have a nice day.

I’m not trying to be annoying but before you start criticizing everything they got wrong with Forza Horizon 3 maybe you should look at your own posts first. When you can’t be grammatically correct or even spell your own name it doesn’t give you a lot of credit to criticize other people  . I agree with some of thoses things you said but like everyone else has said you can’t automatically assume everyone dislikes or likes something.

There’s a spacebar for a reason

Dont really get this thread at all

This is a road based racing game driving on roads not race tracks many many people buy this game for this reason.

Now not every one is interested in racing on the black top surface some like gravel others like dirt and mud with bumps and jumps.

This game caters to most types of racing on road and off road with a large sellection of cars to cater to the largest audience possible even to those who only like one type of surface and one style of car.

There is something in this game for most player so enjoy the sections and cars you like with out trying to change it for those who enjoy the sections and cars you dont like.

Price seems to come up quite a lot but think of this they had a budget to work with and a target price for the game. Now then think if every gamer got what they wanted in this game the price would be massive and no one but the rich would be able to buy it The company would go broke and no more Forza.

Be happy with what you have this is not just your game but all of ours to play and we all want something different.
