A friend of mine just told me about this Jalopnik article (thanks Stuzib!), so I decided to open a thread to discuss.
"We don’t know for certain that this is what’s happening because neither Ford nor XBOX/Microsoft will comment on what they’re going to say, but a Ford invite clearly states they have “News from XBOX” followed, the next day, by a roundtable discussion on “The Art of Performance in Gaming.”

Interesting find. Guess we can only speculate, but a deal must of been done for something. Not necessarily Forza though.
I changed the title, probably It’s too early for a Forza 6 related announcement. Anyway, the wait isn’t going to be long. Just two more days and we’ll know something more.
No link between Ford and Forza mentioned so the speculation over the FM6 cover pic seems to be the product of a slow news week. I kinda hope this hasn’t anything to do with Forza. All that media time wasted on the P1 didn’t do anything to improve the game and in reality the core of the game is more about a good range of slightly less exotic cars. Speculating as to which car may feature on the cover of a game about which they know absolutely nothing is about as pointless as editorials get.
Let’s have less hype and drum beating and a bit more content eh!

You’re right. The article is 99% speculation and 1% information (what I care about, since I didn’t know about that “News from Xbox”).
Whether it has anything to do with Forza or not, Ford will be revealing the GT’s successor (or whatever PHOENIX is) in Detroit and that’s plenty reason to get excited.
Ford did suggest they’ll be running an entry at LeMans in 2016 so a new GT is likely but Phoenix implies the resurection of something and the GT has already had its rebirth. A new T Bird perhaps? Time will tell
A phoenix goes through a cyclical death/rebirth process…not just once. So the new model could rise out of the ashes of its predecessors (GT40 and '05 GT. Both will be at the Ford stand). That would make sense in my opinion.

This is true, the graphics are very Forza-esque.
However, it does say Ford design Studio (or something to that effect) in the bottom right, so I don’t think we can conclude it as potentially Forza 6.
Turns out the Phoenix was a new Ford GT after all. It’s decent looking, if a little busy, but performance is what matters and it seems like it will deliver.
I personally think it looks awful and definitely do not applaud the v6. And the raptor, oh dear.

Wow Forza 6 announced very early (assuming normal timing).
Not that early, considering some games are confirmes years before release.
Early given recent Forza announcements.
